From the software and core IT side of the transformation, you will focus on connecting Google Workspace, SaaS platforms, enterprise AI tools, and GM’s core business systems through secure, reusable, and scalable integration patterns.\nThis role is a strong fit for an experienced engineer who can independently deliver complex integration solutions, translate business and technical requirements into practical system designs, and build supportable, production-ready pipelines that align with enterprise standards. You will partner closely with product, engineering, technical program management, security, and business stakeholders to enable reliable data flow, workflow continuity, and platform interoperability across GM, while contributing reusable patterns that can be adopted broadly across the enterprise.\nWhat You’ll Do\nStrategic architecture and standards alignment\nBuild reusable services, accelerators, and reference integration templates so transformation teams can solve repeatable connectivity needs more consistently.\nApply enterprise platform guardrails by aligning integration designs with data standards, identity guidelines, and security policies.\nPartner with Security, Privacy, Identity, Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), and Retention teams to support workflows that process sensitive or regulated data.\nEvaluate incoming integration requests and recommend the appropriate technical path using approved platform capabilities, configuration options, or custom engineering.\nIntegration delivery and pipeline engineering\nDesign, build, and maintain robust, resilient, and observable integrations using APIs, webhooks, scripts, connectors, and middleware services.\nDefine source-to-destination data mappings, transformation logic, exception-handling patterns, and monitoring approaches that support reliable day-to-day operations.\nModernize Microsoft-dependent workflows, legacy interfaces, and older automations into scalable, Google-aligned integration patterns.\nConnect Google Workspace with core GM platforms, including identity services, reporting environments, asset repositories, and approved AI platforms.\nSupport end-to-end workflows that move data and trigger actions across enterprise systems.\nMigration and coexistence engineering\nDesign and support coexistence models that allow Microsoft, Google, and internal platforms to interoperate effectively during phased migration waves.\nPreserve workflow continuity where historical data, inactive-user content, or core systems must remain on legacy platforms during transition.\nSupport cutover sequencing, permissions validation, metadata mapping, and post-deployment stabilization to reduce operational disruption.\nTransformation pod engagement and sustainment\nPartner directly with transformation Product Leads and Technical Program Managers within business units to integrate Google capabilities into real-world operational processes.\nProvide technical leadership through design reviews, implementation guidance, and engineering best practices across the program.\nAuthor technical designs, dependency maps, operational runbooks, and handover materials that support long-term sustainment of integrated solutions.\nSupport validation, troubleshooting, and hypercare activities during rollout and early adoption phases.\nYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\nCore experience and education\n7+ years of hands-on experience in integration engineering, software engineering, platform architecture, or enterprise application integration within complex enterprise environments.\nStrong systems-thinking capability, with proven experience mapping dependencies across applications, data layers, identity services, and business processes.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nIntegration and software engineering proficiency\nStrong production-level proficiency in Python and core scripting or automation frameworks.\nExtensive experience building and supporting enterprise-grade integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware solutions, and ETL or data transformation logic.\nStrong understanding of cloud-based integration patterns, modern application architecture, Git-based version control, and debugging integration issues across multi-system environments.\nExperience designing secure, supportable integrations across SaaS platforms and internal enterprise systems.\nSecurity, identity, and cross-functional delivery\nStrong foundational knowledge of enterprise authentication, authorization, identity integration, and access-control frameworks.\nProven history of working effectively with product managers, engineering teams, TPMs, security leads, and business stakeholders.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs, architecture risks, and engineering decisions to non-technical partners.\nWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)\nDirect experience supporting large-scale Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace migration or coexistence programs.\nFamiliarity with Google Workspace administration, Google Workspace APIs, Google Apps Script, and AppSheet.\nExperience connecting enterprise workflows to modern data and AI ecosystems such as Gemini Enterprise, Glean, AskGM, and Databricks.\nFamiliarity with corporate data retention, ILM, privacy frameworks, and regulated data controls in large-scale enterprise environments.\nExperience supporting automated testing, cutover planning, data validation, hypercare support, and long-term sustainment models.\nThis job may be eligible for relocation benefits.\nGM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU WILL NEED GM IMMIGRATION SPONSORSHIP (e.g., H-1B, TN, STEM OPT, etc.) NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.\nFor a California-only role, use:\nCompensation: The compensation information is a good-faith estimate only.
