This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Tonawanda on a full-time basis.\nThe Role:\nThe Manufacturing Process Engineer is to provide professional technical knowledge, results and behaviors in the environment of new and mature manufacturing systems to sustain or increase safety, quality, throughput and efficiency. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment is critical to succeed in this role.\nThis position may require off-shift work - candidates must have flexibility to work any shift.\nWhat You'll Do (Responsibilities):\nSupport the day-to-day production needs on the production floor by maintaining solid relationships with the Production and Maintenance teams.\n\nManage significant downtime events by providing technical guidance and support.\n\nDesign work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements with high integrity.\n\nDrive Continuous Improvement efforts in assigned area through the elimination of waste.\n\nEvaluate bottleneck areas and support throughput and productivity improvements in assigned area.\n\nReduce total cost by improving productivity metrics related to equipment uptime, cycle time and quality.\n\nBecome a coach and teacher of lean manufacturing principles to the production floor team members.\n\nDrive problem solving efforts.\n\nWork collaboratively as one team with all levels of the organization.\n\nWork collaboratively with machine and tool builders on the design and implementation of new tools and equipment.\n\nCreate and Maintain Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans and PFMEAs.\n\nLead plant Equipment Install / Debug / Launch / Continuous Improvement activities.\n\nContribute to lessons learned activities by providing feedback and information to the central process team for BOE/BOP updates.\n\nProvide technical direction to, and oversight of outside vendor sources when vendors are on site.\n\nLeverage GD&T skillsets to ensure manufacturing equipment, tooling, machining processes, and quality verifications procedures meet design requirements.\n\nEquipment Spare Part identification and stock request submission.\n\nAuthor Equipment Preventative Maintenance Plans and provide training for the Maintenance and Production teams to execute.\n\nProblem-solve (analyze data, determine root causes, develop implementation plans) and resolve issues which are affecting quality or throughputc.\n\nSupport implementation of new processes & equipment.\n\nProvides technical support for manufacturing operations.\n\nCoordinate input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs.\n\nYour Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):\nAbility and willingness to work Non-Standard Hours outside of normal Shift (early morning, late evenings and some weekends and holidays) to support installation and maintenance of equipment.\n\nBS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or similar technical field.\n\nExperience in engineering problem solving.\n\nGood computer skills and understanding of mechanical drawings and blueprints.\n\nBasic understanding of basic methods of machining.\n\nDemonstrated interest and ability to learn and apply agile methodologies.\n\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts.\n\nExperience working in manufacturing environment.\n\nWhat Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):\nMinimum of 2 years of Machining process development experience in Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering discipline with plant floor experience.\n\nKnowledge of AutoCAD, Team Center and Microsoft Office.\n\nStatistical problem-solving training.\n\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex projects with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.\n\nExperience with PFMEAs/Process Control Plans/ Error Proofing Devices.\n\nExperience in process development, specification, procurement, and qualification of equipment & tooling.\n\nPrevious experience with project management and time management.\n\nPrevious experience working in a Union Environment or Bargaining Unit.\n\nKnowledge of or experience with Bill of Equipment (BOE), Bill of Process (BOP), Bill of Sediment Elimination (BOSE) and Bill of Operations (BOO).\n\nCompensation:\nThe expected base compensation for this role is: $80,700.00 - $109,400.00.
