The position requires the ability to address the broadest and most complex problems.\nWhat You’ll Do\nProvide guidance to the engineering team for the instrumentation, equipment and software required for compliant testing\nProvide guidance and support to laboratory operations and quality teams to relative to the processes and procedures required to ensure compliant testing\nValidate compliance of the measurement instrumentation, diagnostics and calibrations\nValidate compliance of the test procedure and data collected for each required test or test sequence\nCollaborate with teams to solve problems, improve FTQ\nCollaborate with teams to develop tools and processes to improve efficiency\nLead innovation activities in the Quality Department\nComplete Quality systems related activities\nTrain team members on tools and processes\nMaintain documents related to Standard Work for projects\nReview data and perform statistical analysis\nMaintain status of department, projects, and Business Plan Deployment related tasks\nMaintain quality reports related to laboratory and operations, issuing monthly reports for status\nPerform data acquisition and database management using various PC computer software packages and keep records of status and changes\nRefer to the employee training documents maintained and held by the supervisor for specifics as to required job training\nYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\nBachelors Degree - Engineering degree preferred, other fields of study combined with appropriate experience may be considered\nRed X, OPEX, DFSS certifications\nWorking knowledge of automotive vehicle systems\nKnowledge of and application of statistical methods if applying data analysis\nWorking knowledge of lean engineering / quality systems and strong critical thinking skills\nPeople skills to work effectively with others including global teams and strong oral/written communication skills to effectively interface with GPG leadership\nPreferred Skills\nData and analytics experience: Three or more years in data analytics, data engineering, database development, predictive modeling, or a related field; bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.\nDatabricks and BI expertise: Advanced hands-on experience with Databricks and Power BI, including production workloads, large datasets, data warehousing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization; familiarity with Jira Cloud, Immuta, or Atlan is a plus.\nData engineering and AI/ML: Strong SQL and Python skills with experience in data transformation, reconciliation, predictive modeling, forecasting, regression analysis, machine learning, and developing or deploying AI/ML models and agents.\nGovernance and solution delivery: Practical experience with data quality, metadata, lineage, stewardship, controlled access, system dependencies, testing, version control, and translating business needs into reliable data solutions.\n Architecture and operational insight: Experience designing data products, lakehouses or warehouses, APIs, workflows, or integrations; automotive, engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, DFSS, or related operational experience is preferred. Relevant Databricks, Power BI, cloud, data engineering, or AI/ML certifications are a plus. \n\nGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
