Partnering with Autonomy, Systems, Safety, and other cross-functional teams, we provide the simulation foundation needed to assess system behavior, improve development velocity, and support end-to-end AV quality. We own large-scale scenario libraries,test and evaluation pipelines, and core infrastructure that support virtual testing, data analysis, model development, and validation within a unified framework. By joining this team, you will help shape GM’s core simulation platforms, turn complex system behavior into actionable insights, and accelerate the development of safe, scalable autonomous vehicles.\nWhatYou’llDo:\nDesign, build, andmaintainlarge-scaletest infrastructureandevaluation pipelinesthat enable and quantifythe accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of simulation tests used for autonomous vehicle software validation.\n\nDevelop andmaintainGM’s core simulation dashboards and reports, delivering clear, actionable, and interpretable insights on test operations, simulationtrustand healthtrendsto engineering teams and leadership.\n\nDrive scalablesimulationquality assessments, standardized processes, and automation to support seamless integration of automated outputs with human-in-the-loop analysis and evaluation.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional partners across Autonomy, Systems, Safety, and customer teams to define, refine, and drive consensus on simulation validation methodologies and requirements.\n\nUpholdhigh standardsfor code quality and software architecture through code reviews and technical leadership, mentoring other engineers on software engineering and simulation testing best practices.\n\nLeverage AI-assisted development tools and analytics platforms to enhance productivity, improve code quality, and drive innovation in simulation testing.\n\nWhat You Must Have:\n5+ years of applied experience developing complex evaluation, simulation, or test frameworks.\n\nProficient in developing Python for production systems, including unit testing, code review, performance tradeoffs, and reliability best practices.\n\nDemonstrated ability to drive technical design and execution across multiple teams and organizations in a remote or distributed environment.\n\nStrong communicationand collaboration skills.\n\nBS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n\nWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge:\nExperiencetesting andevaluating robotics systems or autonomous vehicles, including working on simulation frameworks.\n\nExperience working on test strategies and validation for safety-critical products.\n\nA strong, data-driven curiosity to investigate anomalies and systematically root-cause discrepancies.\n\nFamiliarity with SQL, time-series data analysis, performance monitoringtoolsand dashboarding systems (e.g., Looker,Streamlit).\n\nHybrid/Remote:\nThis role can be based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Sunnyvale or MountainViewyou are expected to report to that location three times per week.\n*This job may be eligible for relocation benefits if you are interested inrelocatingto the bay area.\nCompensation\nThe salary range for this role is $129,400 and $198,400.
