Negotiating and issuing contracts for GM returnable container requirements. \n Provides support of one of the key areas within Logistics and / or Containers organization to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives. Communicates within the function as well as other functions, external affiliates, regulatory agencies. Responsible for supporting relationship management with suppliers and service providers Influences others within the organization to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches. Identify problems, update or modify work methods that may be complex in the work area without the benefit of defined procedures. Promote GM's values and makes customer-focused decisions. Removing Roadblocks & Resolving Issues/Complaints: Observes and steps up to remove roadblocks and resolve potential issues.\n\nSkills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\n5+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)\nData Judgement - Competency using automated tools, ability to objectively analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions\nInformative Communication - Ability to communicate relevant information to the appropriate audience both effectively and timely\nRelationship Management - Develops and maintains constructive, cooperative working relationships\nNegotiation - engage in collaborative discussions to reach meaningful agreements\nAnalytical Thinking - Consider various factors in decision making to determine solutions and their impacts\nResults Focus - Take charge without prompting, seize opportunities and deliver on time\nWorkload Management - Manage multiple tasks with quality; prioritize by critical needs\nSAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems\nAbility to travel 10% of the time domestically + Internationally\n What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)\nBachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field\nExperience with commodities\nCost analysis or manufacturing experience\nAutomotive industry experience\nKnowledge of Returnable Containers\nKnowledge of Capacity and Materials Management\nCapable of drawing conclusions from complex data, market trends and the regulatory environment\nAbility to understand basic engineering documents and technical drivers for the applicable commodities\nKnowledge of contract law as it applies to the purchasing processes\n\nGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
