As Supervisor of the GM OneOps team, you will connect manufacturing needs to technology strategy, guide the prioritization of team initiatives, and deliver solutions that improve issue resolution, escalation management, quality, throughput, and launch execution across GM's global manufacturing network.\nWHAT\nAs a Supervisor, you will lead a team of software developers who design, build, deploy, and support full-stack applications and integrations that power critical manufacturing operations. You will partner closely with manufacturing stakeholders to understand operational challenges, develop practical solutions, and deliver high-quality software products that create measurable business value. This is a highly hands-on leadership role, with approximately 75% technical contribution and 25% people leadership responsibilities.\nHOW\nBy developing people, prioritizing high-value work, removing barriers, and fostering collaboration across software, manufacturing, architecture, and program teams to deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready digital solutions.\nWork Arrangement - Onsite\nThe successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center on a full-time basis. This role requires up to 25% domestic and international travel.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead, coach, and develop a high-performing software development team while fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.\nCollaborate with plant teams, executives, staff engineers, and principal engineers to align manufacturing needs with technology solutions.\nPartner with manufacturing stakeholders to translate complex operational challenges into prioritized software solutions that balance business value, technical risk, team capacity, and delivery commitments.\nGuide the full software development lifecycle, including discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, rollout, and production support.\nCreate delivery plans, manage dependencies, remove blockers, and coordinate across software, manufacturing, architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and program management teams.\nProvide technical leadership, promote engineering best practices, support critical production incidents, and communicate progress, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions to leadership and partner organizations.\nFoster a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement.\nBuild strategic relationships across software, manufacturing, and program management organizations to support future digital transformation initiatives.\nYour Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)\nExperience leading, supervising, coaching, or providing technical leadership to a software development team.\nDemonstrated ability to solve complex business or manufacturing challenges and translate stakeholder needs into product roadmaps, requirements, and delivery plans.\nProven ability to prioritize and deliver multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.\nExperience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise software applications, with a strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, Agile methodologies, and production operations.\nPractical experience with Python, React, or comparable modern development technologies.\nExperience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.\nExperience using GitHub and project management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and tradeoffs to non-technical audiences.\nExperience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve software development productivity and accelerate solution delivery.\nWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)\n6+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading technical teams or workstreams.\nExperience supporting manufacturing operations, manufacturing execution systems, industrial automation, or connected operations environments.\nExperience with cloud-native technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.\nHands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or other major cloud platforms.\nExperience designing distributed systems across on-premises and cloud-hosted environments.\nStrong understanding of user experience and usability principles for enterprise applications.\nSolid computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.\nExperience leading application deployments, production transformations, or enterprise-scale rollouts.\nExperience building high-performing engineering teams and improving software delivery, reliability, and operational performance.\n\nThis role is categorized as onsite.
