As a leader on this team, we are looking for someone who cares deeply about the technical development of other engineers on the team andcaneffectively balance the needs and priorities of the business, our users, and the growth of our engineers.\nThe way this engineer will deliver impact may vary depending on thesituation,but they will be expected to be able toidentifyhow they can best have impact with minimal guidance.\nThe Team\nThe AVDeveloper Toolsteam ownsAI-nativetools and services that enable otherstodeployconsistent andsecureagentic workflows withvisibility into theirusage, both hosted and on-device. We are part of theAI Cloud andDeveloper Productivity organization and own building blocksthat allow customers to easily instrument their products to debug,optimize,reach, andmaintainproduction level reliability and availability. This includessettingbest practices and providing opinionated drop-in libraries and recommendations forservice instrumentation. Our goal is to accelerate AV development by supporting developer workflows for performance and observabilityintotheir systems.\nWhatYou’llDo (Responsibilities)\nIdentifyengineering pain points and propose/design/implement solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable\n\nInfluence the team’s technical roadmap\n\nEvaluate new tools and technologies throughPoCs\n\nShip improvements to our AV development toolchains and services which have a measurable and direct impact on engineering productivity and our core company metrics\n\nDrive software engineering best practices within your team, and create tooling which encourages these\n\nHelp steer the engineering culture on the team\n\nGuide the team to find the right balance between delivering impact and addressing technical debt\n\nMentor and grow engineers on the team\n\nSet the example forhigh levelsof accountability\n\nExecute and deliver impact both individually and through the team\n\nSet strong boundaries when selecting external requests and pushing back on requests that do not align with our team vision\n\nMinimum Qualifications (Must-Have)\n5+ years of experience designing,buildingandoperatingproduction systems at scale in the cloud\n\nBachelorsDegree in Computer Scienceor related field or equivalent work experience\n\nExperience designing highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable services\n\nExperience writing in Go, Python, or other languages at production scale\n\nUnderstanding of Unix/Linux, SSH, and networking fundamentals\n\nAttention to detail, and a desire to improve processes and systems around you\n\nAbility to lead and influence others, both internal and external to the team\n\nAbility to research, document, communicate, and defend proposals, and provide and take critical feedback\n\nAbility to effectively make trade-offs and communicate the reasoning\n\nAbility to manage competing priorities, focus on shipping, and work effectively under pressure\n\nPassion for mentoring and growing junior engineers\n\nPassion for self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world\n\nPreferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)\nDemonstratedapplication ofLLMs, skills, and MCPstocoding& review workflows\n\nExperience working with GCP\n\nExperience working with Docker and Kubernetes\n\nExperience owning or contributing to Open-Source projects\n\nCompensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.\nThe salary range for this role: is $180,000 to $284,000.
