This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite on a full-time basis.\nWHY: The purpose of this role is to develop tooling and test programs for finished vehicle yard reflash activities, enabling efficient, scalable global execution of product software updates.\nWHAT: As a Software Reflash Technical Specialist, you will prepare, validate, and maintain tooling and configurations that enable efficient, reliable execution of software reflash events.\nHOW: Lead end-to-end readiness of reflash tooling and test configurations, partnering closely with software engineering, manufacturing, and execution teams to build, validate, and continuously improve reliable, yard-ready solutions that enable on-time software updates and improve the customer experience at delivery.\nWork Arrangement - Onsite\nThe successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Tech Center on a full-time basis. This role requires up to 50% domestic and international travel.\nWhat You’ll Do (Responsibilities):\nDevelop and validate tools, processes, and procedures to support vehicle reflash. \nCreate customized flash and test configurations files for yard reflash activities. \nServe as the technical point of contact for reflash campaigns, supporting issue resolution and tool readiness while partnering with deployment teams to improve tool performance, reliability, and usability based on field feedback.\nAct as the technical globalization lead for reflash support across Europe, South America, Korea, and Australia.\nLead continuous improvement initiatives for yard reflash operations through tool maintenance, process automation, and creation of user-friendly applications that improve execution efficiency.\nLead kickoff meeting with plant, program teams, and engineering to clearly communicate the scope of the reflash campaign.\nTrain new hires, peers, and contractors on reflash processes and tools, and document standardized work to support consistent execution.\nFoster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates future organizational and industry challenges.\nBuild and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.\nYour Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications )\n4+ years of hands-on experience supporting vehicle software reflash, diagnostic, or test activities in manufacturing, yard, or end-of-line environments.\nStrong individual contributor experience owning complex vehicle software reflash execution, including tool preparation, validation, troubleshooting, and deployment readiness.\nProven expertise developing, configuring, validating, and maintaining vehicle flash and test tooling used in manufacturing or yard reflash operations.\nDeep working knowledge of vehicle communication protocols, diagnostic workflows, and in-vehicle software systems.\nHands-on experience using vehicle software and diagnostic tools such as NeoVI-Fire2, or vSPY, or DPS, or equivalent platforms.\nDemonstrated ability to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex, non-standard software or tooling issues impacting vehicle reflash execution.\nWillingness to support production-critical activities, including extended hours, weekend support, and up to 50% domestic and international travel.\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience supporting vehicle software systems in manufacturing environments.\nWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)\nSolid understanding of vehicle manufacturing and yard operations, including software update flow, end-of-line testing, and production constraints.\nAdvanced experience with End of Line Test (EOLT) software development, integration, or support.\nStrong ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous manufacturing environments with limited direction.\nExperience contributing to continuous improvement efforts focused on tooling stability, automation, cycle time reduction, or execution quality.\nComfortable acting as a technical point of escalation or subject-matter expert during high-impact reflash events.\nAbility to clearly document technical processes, create reusable tooling artifacts, and share knowledge with peers and partners.\nExperience collaborating closely with software engineering, manufacturing engineering, test, and quality teams to resolve complex reflash or vehicle software issues.\nPrior experience working onsite in vehicle assembly plants or finished vehicle yards.\n\nThe selected candidate will be required to travel at least 50% or more on a frequent basis.\n\nRelocation benefits are available for candidates who qualify under company policy.\n\nAbout GM\nOur vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.\nWhy Join Us\nWe believe we all must make a choice every day - individually and collectively - to drive meaningful change through our words, our deeds and our culture.
