You will oversee a represented workforce team, manage inventory, maintain quality standards, and support timely shipments to customers. This role requires rotating between first- and second-shift schedules based on business needs and may include nights and weekends. You will receive on-the-job training and professional development while helping strengthen safety, operational performance, and continuous improvement.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOversee and guide department operations using standardized processes and methods.\nLead, train, coach, develop, recognize, and evaluate union team members and direct reports.\nMonitor inventory, warehouse performance reports, costs, and Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost key performance indicators.\nCultivate a safety culture by implementing and enforcing company safety rules, policies, and applicable industry regulations.\nImplement lean principles and identify improvement opportunities through tools such as layered audits.\nAchieve quality standards by communicating goals, leveraging available resources, and solving operational problems.\nMaintain effective working relationships with employees, union representatives, business partners, peers, and the management team.\nAdminister company policies consistently and model GM cultural behaviors, integrity, and ethical conduct.\nComplete administrative tasks, including timekeeping and maintaining departmental records and reports.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.\n3+ years of experience supervising employees in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.\nWillingness to work first or second shift, as determined by business needs, and nights or weekends when required.\nAbility to develop, maintain, and analyze data.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.\nAbility to communicate professionally in written and verbal formats.\nAbility to organize work and solve operational problems.\nWhat Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)\nPrevious supervisory experience in a union environment.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\nAbility to learn the business and apply sound judgment when addressing operational issues.\nDemonstrated managerial courage, integrity, and ethical behavior.\nAbility to foster a positive, collaborative environment with peers and union partners.\n\nGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
