The focus will be on translating complex climate and natural hazard risks into robust, data-driven parametric structures, ensuring technical excellence, pricing adequacy, and portfolio scalability.\nThe person will play a key role in advancing GC&C’s ART & Parametrics business, combining deep analytical expertise, modelling capabilities, and commercial acumen to deliver innovative solutions for corporate and public sector clients.\nMain responsibilities:\nCat Modelling & Parametric Underwriting\nLead advanced catastrophe modelling analysis (e.g. Earthquake, windstorm, flood, wildfire) to support parametric underwriting decisions\nValidate, challenge, and enhance hazard data, event sets, and pricing models, ensuring robustness and consistency\nTranslate model outputs into effective parametric trigger structures (index selection, thresholds, payout curves)\nAssess basis risk, exposure aggregation, and model limitations to ensure sound underwriting decisions\nDrive continuous improvement in modelling approaches, data sources, and analytical frameworks\nParametric Solution Structuring\nDesign and structure bespoke parametric solutions tailored to client exposures and resilience objectives\nEnsure strong alignment between risk analysis, pricing, and product design\nIntegrate parametric solutions within broader ART and capital solutions structures where relevant\nMaintain underwriting discipline, ensuring profitability and adherence to Generali risk appetite\nClient & Broker Engagement\nSupport origination and business development by positioning parametric solutions in strategic dialogues\nLead technical discussions, workshops, and presentations with clients and partners\nProduct Development & Innovation\nContribute to the development of new parametric products, perils, and geographies\nDrive innovation in data usage, modelling techniques, and trigger design\nCollaborate closely with data scientists, actuaries, and IT on analytics, automation, and platform development\nSupport the positioning of ART & Parametrics insurance within GC&C\nART & Capital Solutions\nCollaborate on solutions combining parametric triggers and alternative capital\nMonitor ILS market developments to enhance structuring capabilities\nProject Leadership & Execution\nLead complex projects from analysis and structuring to execution\nCoordinate cross-functional stakeholders (underwriting, actuarial, legal, claims, IT)\nMentor junior team members and contribute to team capability building\nDrive continuous improvement in underwriting tools and processes\nQualifications & Experience:\nDegree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, data science, engineering, physics, environmental science)\n7 -10 years of experience in catastrophe modelling and nat cat risk analytics\nAbility to translate technical outputs into commercial solutions\nExperience working in international and cross-functional environments\nFluency in English; additional languages are a plus (e.g. Italian)\nAvailability to travel internationally\nTechnical Expertise:\nSolid expertise in catastrophe modelling requiredHazard modelling\nEvent set analysis and loss modelling\nExposure and accumulation analysis\n\nExperience with cat modelling tools and/or custom modelling frameworks\nQuantitative skills (statistics, data analysis, risk modelling)\nProgramming skills (e.g. Python, R)\nBusiness & Leadership Skills:\nGood communication skills, with ability to engage at senior client level\nExperience in project leadership in international and cross-functional environments\nHigh ownership, initiative, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, innovative environment\nWhat we offer:\nThe position will be offered at Job Level 7, under the terms of the ANIA National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL ANIA) for non-executive employees and the Generali Group Company Collective Agreement.\nThe starting gross annual salary will range between €65,000 and €75,000.
