This person can juggle - and juggle well - multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, is passionate about the type of work Generate is doing, and wants to help scale a growing business.\nWhat you will be doing at Generate Capital as a Construction Manager:\nManaging scope, schedule and budget from project inception to operation.\n\nActing on Generate’s behalf as owner, leading EPC contractors, engineers and vendors.\n\nCoordinating all aspects of owner furnished equipment\n\nManaging EPC contracts, including milestones, progress billing and closeout.\n\nDeveloping construction scopes and RFPs and evaluating EPC bids.\n\nConducting constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs.\n\nReviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders and invoices.\n\nTracking progress against key milestones, quality, safety and code compliance.\n\nCoordinating with design, engineering, operations, commissioning and large load customers.\n\nReporting construction metrics, risks, milestones and cost to management.\n\nLeading root-cause analysis on construction and equipment issues.\n\nSupporting project QA/QC, testing and commissioning process\n\nCandidate qualifications & core characteristics:\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field\n\n10+ years of construction experience on major industrial, energy, utility, microgrid, or mission-critical projects, including 5+ years in an onsite leadership or owner’s representative role.\n\nWorking knowledge of large reciprocating engine installations, medium-voltage systems, fuel-gas and mechanical systems, protection and controls, QA/QC, and EPC contract administration.\n\nStrong understanding of structural, mechanical and electrical systems, with civil and site experience\n\nKnowledge of building codes such as NFPA, NEC and OSHA\n\nExcellent vendor, schedule and communication skills\n\nAbility to be located full time on project sites\n\nAbility to travel periodically to our office in San Francisco\n\nA demonstrated passion for, or commitment to, our mission\n\nUnimpeachable integrity and glowing references\n\nA risk management mindset and ability to anticipate challenges.\n\nOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, listening and strong writing.\n\nHigh self-awareness and humility, with excitement about new challenges\n\nIntellectual agility, curiosity, and creativity; problem-solving is your default mode\n\nEntrepreneurial spirit: flexibility, comfort with risk, and a bias for progress over perfection\n\nPreferred qualifications:\nNatural-gas reciprocating engine plants; islanded/grid-forming systems; hyperscale data centers; BESS; gas compression; emissions controls; black-start and integrated systems testing.\n\nOSHA 30 and NFPA 70E training; CCM, PMP, PE, or similar credential; familiarity with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, P6, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.\n\nGenerate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), a project vehicle, and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes.
