Our patients enjoy the unique experience of state-of-the-art, personalized care linked seamlessly to the latest screening, diagnostic and preventive technologies. \n\nMBC is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to provide assistance to various healthcare services following established policies and protocols including, but not limited to: screening and scheduling all new patient appointments, obtaining records, and imaging studies, managing medical record requests, scanning, and attaching documents within the electronic medical record, patient check in and out, insurance verification and authorizations, phone/message triage and collaboration with all team members.\n\nEssential Functions: \nFront office patient registration\nResponsible for all screening and scheduling of all patient’s new or existing based on MBC protocols\nSupplying new/existing patients with the appropriate form\nMaintenance/updates of all applicable forms for new/existing patients and medical records\nVersatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm\nAnswers and screens telephone calls in a professional and timely manner: takes accurate messages with a high degree of professionalism and courtesy\nExercises considerable judgement and discretion in handling requests for appointments and telephone calls\nAble to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy and discipline\nExcellent written and oral communication skills\nResponsible for all medical record requests and supplying appropriate information\nStrong communication skills with all departments within MBC and other external offices\nComposes, types and distributes professional correspondence and memoranda, E-mails and faxes, using individual initiative and as assigned\nObtaining medical records from new/existing patient and downloading CDs of images\nScan in all written reports with records (i.e.: pathology, mammogram, sonogram and MRI)\nCall insurance to verify new/existing patient benefits\nCollect referrals \nCollect co-pays\n\nJob Qualifications: General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) required \nKnowledge of medical terminology\nKnowledge of insurances/managed care\nDemonstrate competence in reacting to and handling emergencies\nKnowledge of computers and electronic medical records\nStrong charting/documentation skills\nStrong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills\nGood judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions\n\nPhysical Demands: Physical, Mental and Workplace Environment Conditions\nThe employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
