The role leads people managers and their teams and is accountable for the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of accounting activities and financial close.\nThe role combines technical accounting expertise, people leadership, strategic planning, operational excellence, and transformation. The General Accounting Manager will drive strong financial controls, process standardization, and continuous improvement while leveraging AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, insights, and scalability.\nKey Responsibilities:\nGeneral Accounting & Financial Close\nLead and oversee the delivery of General Accounting towers, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely recording of financial transactions.\nProvide leadership and oversight for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring key accounting activities and deliverables are completed accurately and within established timelines.\nOversee accounting activities such as journal entries, expense accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, prepayments, and other General Accounting processes.\nMonitor close performance, key deliverables, dependencies, and risks, and ensure issues are appropriately escalated and resolved.\nReview significant and complex accounting matters and provide technical accounting guidance to people managers and their teams.\nOversee financial analysis and data interpretation to identify significant trends, unusual movements, accounting issues, and potential financial or control risks.\nEnsure general ledger balances and accounting transactions are properly supported, reviewed, approved, and recorded in accordance with established accounting policies and standards.\nStrategy, Planning & Performance Management\nContribute to the development of the General Accounting strategy, priorities, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader Finance and Finance Shared Services objectives.\nTranslate strategic priorities into actionable plans, initiatives, milestones, and measurable outcomes across the General Accounting organization.\nLead the planning and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, effective execution, and timely delivery.\nEstablish, monitor, and continuously improve team metrics, KPIs, service levels, and other performance measures to assess operational effectiveness, quality, productivity, and controls.\nAnalyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights and use these to drive decisions and improvement initiatives.\nPrepare and present Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), leadership updates, performance scorecards, team metrics, and management insights, highlighting achievements, challenges, risks, trends, and areas requiring leadership attention.\nProvide clear and concise insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making and strategic priorities.\nMonitor progress against strategic plans and key initiatives and proactively address risks, dependencies, and barriers to execution.\nPartner with Finance Shared Services and cross-functional leaders to ensure General Accounting priorities remain aligned with evolving business needs.\nAccounting Governance, Controls & Compliance\nEnsure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, company accounting policies, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.\nMaintain a strong internal control environment and ensure appropriate controls are embedded and consistently executed across General Accounting processes.\nIdentify accounting, operational, and control risks and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.\nApply strong critical thinking and sound judgment in evaluating complex accounting matters, control issues, and proposed solutions.\nSupport internal and external audits, SOX testing, statutory audits, and other regulatory requirements by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of supporting documentation and explanations.\nEnsure accounting policies, business process documentation, workflows, and control documentation are current and properly maintained.\nPeople Leadership & Talent Development\nLead, coach, and develop people managers and their respective teams, strengthening technical accounting, operational, strategic, and leadership capabilities.\nEstablish clear objectives, priorities, performance expectations, and accountability across the General Accounting organization.\nDevelop people managers as effective leaders and build a strong succession and talent pipeline within the function.\nEffectively manage organizational capacity and resources across multiple General Accounting towers to support financial close, strategic initiatives, and business priorities.\nProvide regular coaching, feedback, career development, and performance management.\nFoster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, innovation, and high-quality execution.\nPromote a growth mindset and encourage teams to challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities for improvement.\nBuild team capabilities in AI, automation, analytics, and digital tools to improve productivity, analysis, and decision-making.\nProcess Excellence, AI & Transformation\nDrive end-to-end process standardization and continuous improvement across General Accounting to improve efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and control effectiveness.\nLead the review and optimization of accounting process flows, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, eliminate unnecessary manual activities, and strengthen controls.\nChampion the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, analytics, and emerging technologies across General Accounting.\nIdentify and prioritize practical opportunities to leverage AI and automation to accelerate financial close, improve financial analysis, generate actionable insights, identify anomalies and risks, reduce manual activities, and enhance accounting quality.\nEncourage responsible experimentation and innovation while ensuring AI-enabled solutions comply with applicable data privacy, security, governance, accounting, and internal control requirements.\nLead medium to complex transformation initiatives, including process migrations, system implementations, automation initiatives, and integration of new accounting activities into Finance Shared Services.\nPartner with Finance, Technology, and other stakeholders to design and implement scalable process and technology solutions.\nMeasure and communicate the impact and value delivered through transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.\nStakeholder & Business Partnership\nBuild strong partnerships with RTI Towers, FSSC Teams, Corporate Accounting, Controllership, Strategic Finance/FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and other Finance and business stakeholders.\nServe as a key General Accounting point of contact and provide accounting guidance, financial insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.\nCommunicate accounting issues, financial impacts, operational risks, performance trends, and recommended solutions clearly and effectively to Finance leadership.\nManage competing priorities and resolve cross-functional issues through effective stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, and decision-making.\nCollaborate across functions and geographies to ensure alignment of accounting processes, policies, strategic priorities, and business requirements.\nActively participate in and provide leadership support to global Finance and Finance Shared Services projects, transformation programs, and strategic initiatives.\nPerform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.\nRequirements / Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting.\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) - required.\n8-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within multinational or global organizations, with demonstrated experience leading people managers or team leaders.\nSignificant experience working in a Shared Services Center (SSC), Global Business Services (GBS), or BPO environment.\nStrong experience in General Accounting / Record-to-Insight, including financial close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and related accounting processes.\nAdvanced knowledge and demonstrated experience in financial analysis, financial reporting and analysis, general ledger management, and interpretation of financial data.\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP, accounting standards, SOX, internal controls, and accounting governance.\nDemonstrated experience in strategic and operational planning, including translating organizational priorities into actionable plans, initiatives, and measurable outcomes.\nStrong capability in performance management, KPI development, business reviews, data analysis, and generation of actionable management insights.\nDemonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and problem-solving skills to complex accounting, financial, operational, and control matters.\nStrong experience in process flow management, process standardization, and continuous improvement, with the ability to assess end-to-end processes and identify opportunities for simplification and optimization.\nExtensive experience with ERP and financial systems; experience with Workday Financials or a comparable enterprise ERP is an advantage.\nDemonstrated experience leading process improvement, automation, transformation, system implementation, or transition projects.\nStrong understanding of AI, automation, analytics, and digital technologies, with the ability to identify practical applications within Finance and Accounting and drive responsible adoption.\nProven people management and team organization capabilities, including coaching, performance management, talent development, and building
