Through Genesys Cloud, our AI-powered experience orchestration platform, we connect people, systems, data and AI to help organisations deliver more personalised and effective customer experiences at scale.\nOur Galway R&D centre is one of Genesys' key engineering locations, bringing together software engineers, product managers, UX designers and other technology professionals developing capabilities used by customers around the world.\nThe Role:\nWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer with a strong UI focus to join the Work Automation team.\nWork Automation is building capabilities within Genesys Cloud that help organisations manage, automate and orchestrate work beyond traditional customer interactions. Our teams develop experiences used by agents, supervisors and administrators to manage work and business processes within the Genesys Cloud platform.\nYou will work primarily with Angular, collaborating closely with UX designers, product managers and other engineers to turn product requirements and designs into high-quality intuitive, accessible and scalable customer experiences.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role where you will own work through the full development lifecycle - from understanding a problem and contributing to the design, through implementation, automated testing and code review, to deployment and supporting the feature in production.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign, develop and maintain high-quality applications and reusable UI components using Angular.\n\nTake ownership of features through implementation, automated testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested code with a strong focus on quality.\n\nInvestigate and solve technical problems independently while collaborating with the wider team when needed.\n\nParticipate actively in code reviews and technical discussions, both giving and receiving constructive feedback.\n\nWork closely with UX, Product Management and engineering colleagues to understand customer problems and develop effective solutions.\n\nIntegrate UI applications with REST APIs and services across the wider Genesys Cloud platform.\n\nConsider performance, accessibility, security and usability as part of everyday development.\n\nUse telemetry and operational data to understand how features behave in production and help diagnose and resolve issues.\n\nContribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices, development processes and user experience.\n\nWhat You'll Bring\nApproximately 2+ years of professional software development experience, with a significant focus on web or UI development.\n\nStrong development experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.\n\nExperience developing modern web applications using Angular or a comparable component-based framework such as React or Vue.\n\nA solid understanding of HTML, CSS and responsive web development.\n\nExperience building and consuming REST APIs.\n\nExperience writing unit and automated tests as part of normal software development.\n\nA good understanding of software engineering fundamentals and the software development lifecycle.\n\nExperience with source control and modern CI/CD development practices.\n\nThe ability to investigate problems, identify potential solutions and work independently on well-defined areas of a product.\n\nStrong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with engineers, UX designers and product managers.\n\nA customer-focused mindset and an interest in building software that is intuitive and enjoyable to use.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building larger-scale SaaS or enterprise web applications.\n\nExperience with AWS or other cloud platforms.\n\nExperience with frontend state management and asynchronous application patterns.\n\nFamiliarity with web accessibility standards and accessible UI development.\n\nExperience with observability, telemetry or frontend performance monitoring.\n\nExperience working with design systems or reusable component libraries.\n\nAn understanding of microservices and distributed cloud architectures.\n\nAn interest in AI-assisted development and how AI can be incorporated into modern product experiences.\n\nWhat You'll Find at Genesys\nYou'll join an experienced engineering organisation in Galway while working as part of a globally distributed team.\nYou'll have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful product features, learn from experienced engineers and UX specialists, and develop your skills across modern frontend engineering, cloud technologies and the wider Genesys Cloud platform.\nWe're looking for someone who enjoys building great user experiences, is curious about how things work, and wants to continue developing as an engineer while contributing to software used by organisations around the world.\nOur Benefits: \nAt Genesys,we’recommitted to supporting your well-being, growth, and work-life balance.
