Powered by a team with an active learning mindset and client centricity at its core, we deliver lasting value for the world’s leading enterprises.\nGet to know us at genpact.com and on LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and Facebook.\nJob Description -\nResponsibilities & duties\n· Execute medium and large sourcing projects, supplier qualification and benchmarking packages end to end, from material analysis through to qualified supply.\n· Lead German-language supplier clarification, negotiation support and project meetings on behalf of the delivery team.\n· Analyse materials, drawings and versions using German-language technical documentation, and close specification gaps with client engineering teams.\n· Prepare and coordinate structured RFQ packages; obtain, review and document quotations and derive a documented supplier competition.\n· Prepare decision-making documents for relocation, discontinuation and second-source qualification in German and English.\n· Coordinate sample and prototype procurement and track qualification.\n· Track qualification progress and ramp-up to production and adapt affected procurement and material master data.\n· Maintain project trackers, milestone documentation\n· Act as the on-shore technical and linguistic bridge between the client’s engineering, quality and project buyers and the India-based delivery team.\n· Escalate any risk of supply interruption to client teams.\nQualifications\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics or production engineering.\nSpecialised knowledge: Technical buyer expertise is preferred. Must read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances and specifications.\nSkills\n· Technical buying in German and English;\n· Quotation comparison, cost structure analysis and negotiation support.\n· Supplier qualification.\n· Project tracking across multi-month qualification cycles with shifting scope.\n· Stakeholder communication with German-speaking engineering and quality functions.\nSystems and tools\n· SAP MM or purchasing module; JIRA; Excel at advanced level.\n· PowerPoint for decision documents; PLM or drawing repositories.\n· SharePoint and Teams.\nLanguage, experience and working hours\nLanguage: German at B2 minimum, C1 preferred, as project meetings and most drawings and specifications are in German.
