Job Description

In this role, we are looking for a Data/BI Analyst to design, build, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions that help business stakeholders make faster, better-informed decisions. This role owns dashboards and analyses end-to-end for a defined business area, working primarily in Looker on top of data warehoused in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate is comfortable partnering directly with stakeholders, writing production-quality SQL, and translating ambiguous business questions into clear, trustworthy metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes for reliable data pipelines.
  • Design, build, and maintain LookML models, Explores, and dashboards that serve a specific business function (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Ops, Finance).
• Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards in Power BI and Looker.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries against GCP data warehouses (BigQuery) to support reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate open-ended questions into structured analyses.
  • Own the accuracy, documentation, and maintenance of a defined set of dashboards and reports; troubleshoot data discrepancies.
  • Support self-service analytics by training stakeholders on Looker and maintaining clear metric definitions and data dictionaries.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to flag data quality issues and contribute to improving upstream pipelines and schemas.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders, using visualization best practices.
• Ensure data integrity, governance, and consistency across reporting platforms
  • Support process automation and enable self-service reporting for end-users.

  Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 10-12 years of hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in Looker (or a comparable BI tool, with willingness/ability to ramp on Looker quickly).
  • Working proficiency in SQL, including joins, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Practical experience with cloud data warehouses, ideally BigQuery on GCP.
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain data concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable managing multiple stakeholder requests and prioritizing independently.

• Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL best practices.
  • Hands-on LookML development experience (derived tables, explores, PDTs).
  • Exposure to dbt or another transformation/modeling layer.
  • Familiarity with GCP services beyond BigQuery (Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer/Airflow).
  • Experience with version control (Git) for analytics code.
  • Basic scripting in Python for data prep or automation.
