Working under the direction of the Senior EHS Specialist, you'll carry out routine inspections, recordkeeping, and chemical, waste, and training tasks. The role is hands-on, with daily time in labs, warehouses, and project areas.\nJob Responsibilities: \nPerform assigned inspections using checklists, including eyewash and safety shower checks, fire extinguisher checks, and waste accumulation area checks. Record findings and report them to the Senior EHS Specialist.\nUpdate the chemical inventory and SDS library, and help labs with chemical labeling.\nSchedule waste pickups with vendors and prepare waste paperwork for review. After completing training and receiving sign-off, serve as a backup signer for hazardous waste manifests.\nSchedule new-hire EHS orientation and keep training records up to date.\nCheck that contractors have signed in and have the required documents and approved permits on file before work begins.\nTake initial incident and near-miss reports and photos and pass them to the Senior EHS Specialist.\nEnter data into EHS records, including OSHA logs, NJ Right to Know, and corrective action trackers, under review.\nHelp with emergency drills, PPE distribution, and safety committee logistics.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in EHS, environmental science, chemistry, biology, engineering, or a related field.\n1+ years of EHS, laboratory, or related experience.\nBasic understanding of lab safety, PPE, and chemical handling; lab coursework or lab work experience preferred.\nWillingness to complete OSHA 30, RCRA hazardous waste, and DOT hazmat training.\nHighly motivated and dependable on follow-through, with a track record of taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to results.\nOrganized and comfortable working in labs and around construction.\nBenefits:\nBenefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match that vests fully on day one.
