Guided by its mission to Make People and Nature Healthier Through Biotechnology, and its role as a well-recognized biotechnology company, GenScript has a team of approximately 6,165 employees and has served more than 200,000 customers across over 100 countries and regions.\nJob Title: Research Scientist II, Gene R&D\nSupervisor: Director of US Molecular Biology Gene R&D Dept. \nLocation: Piscataway, NJ (Fully Onsite)\nSalary: $70,000 - $90,000 dependent upon experience\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop and optimize high-throughput sequencing library prep methods.\nManage project timeline and leverage internal resources to push project forward.\nGenerate, analyze, interpret and present data to a broader team.\nClosely communicate with other teams to ensure smooth tech transfer.\nRequirements:\nPhD. degrees in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related fields.\n> 2 years of relevant experience in developing scalable NGS workflow in pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.\nDirect experience in designing customized library preps across different high-throughput sequencing platforms. (Illumina and ONT)\nBroad molecular biology and microbiology knowledge with the ability to apply scientific intuition and interpretation to solve problems.\nDeep knowledge and hands-on experience in using and building both standard and customized bioinformatics pipeline.\nProficiency in at least one of the common programming languages (Python, R, Java)\nExtensive experience in analyzing biological datasets and various file formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF etc.)\nExperience with the high-throughput NGS library prep workflow for clinical samples in a plus.\nExperience with cell-free protein expression is a plus.\nStrong collaborative instinct with good time and resource management skills.\nBenefits:\nBenefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as a 401(k) retirement plan with a company match that vests fully on day one.
