Join a company driven by quality products across an evolving range of industries.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW\nThe Algorithm Engineer II is responsible for development and optimization of algorithms for Gentex products. The Algorithm Engineer II will contribute to the development and improvement of Gentex technology by engaging in research and development, testing, and evaluation of novel technologies, processes, and/or applications, with an emphasis on classical algorithm development.\nLocation: This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nDevelop and optimize algorithms for Gentex products across Automotive, Aerospace, Fire Protection, and other areas.\nCollaborate with Software and Hardware Development Teams to create and implement algorithms in Gentex products and concepts.\nImplement testing procedures to evaluate algorithm performance, accuracy, and efficiency. Debug and troubleshoot issues as they arise.\nWork with large datasets to analyze performance and ensure the accuracy of algorithms in real-world scenarios.\nSolve challenging, large-scale problems with cutting-edge techniques, ensuring the scalability, efficiency, and accuracy of algorithms.\nTake full responsibility for end-to-end algorithm development, from initial design and prototype creation to final deployment and monitoring.\nContinuously optimize algorithms for performance, resource usage, and scalability, ensuring that they meet the company’s standards and requirements.\nIdentify ways to improve the efficiency of Gentex processes throughout product development and manufacturing.\nQuickly learn new subject matter to be able to contribute to solving complex problems.\nContribute to the process of data collection, analysis, and evaluation of results.\nContribute to other groups needing assistance with algorithm development for products, concepts, and processes.\nOther duties as assigned.\nHOW YOU’LL DO IT\nCultivating innovation - Creating new and better ways for the organization to be successful. \nOptimizing work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.\nFoster teamwork - Building effective partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.\nPlanning and aligning - Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.\nCommunicating Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey clear understanding, taking into account the unique needs of different audiences.\nQuality focus - Promoting and maintaining high standards of work, looking for ways to improve products and services, while encouraging coworkers to do so as well.\nMaintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.\nComplying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace. \nWHAT TO BRING \nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.\n2+ years of experience in algorithm engineering or a related field.\nStrong math skills, especially in linear algebra and statistics.\nExperience with all aspects of workflow including data collection, grading, algorithm development, and evaluation.\nExperience with C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.\nExperience with signal processing, image processing, and working with time-series data.\nStrong communication skills to clearly translate an algorithm into a work product usable by another team.\nWHAT WILL HELP\nExperience in Automotive, Aerospace, Fire Protection, or a related industry.\nFamiliarity with optimization techniques (e.g., gradient descent, Newton’s Method, dynamic programming).\nExperience in software development lifecycle, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.\nExperience using the Linux command-line interface.\nExperience with embedded software.\nFamiliarity with using development kits.\nFamiliarity with development using FPGA.\nFamiliarity with camera ISP pipeline concepts.\n Gentex is an equal opportunity employer\nGentex extends equal employment opportunities to qualified applicants and employees regardless of an individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), disability, marital status, military service, height, weight, genetic information, or any other reason protected by law.\nAssistance\nGentex is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to applicants with disabilities.
