Plan, implement, and coordinate production and material processes to enable the efficient initiation, production and timely shipments of product that conforms to company requirements and customer expectations.\nDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCoordinates all activities related to procurement commodity and following up with intent to purchase through the delivery process\nAnalyzes the requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier and date commodity needed for production utilization\nNegotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs\nAssures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company\nMaintains a timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records\nSchedule flexibility to support critical deadlines may be required\nMRP Systems - the process of ensuring materials and products are available for production and delivery to customers, maintaining the lowest possible level of inventory and planning manufacturing activities, delivery schedules and purchasing activities\nRegularly solicits current lead time from suppliers and maintains item master with up-to-date lead time information\nDevelop and maintain daily/weekly schedules (dispatch list) for production\nSupport the development of the monthly ship schedule (30-day) with Customer Orders to track status and revenue to plan\nParticipate in daily meetings with manufacturing management to communicate daily schedules and status of performance to plan\nEnsure material and labor resource availability at start of production MO’s\nRequirements\nEDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s):\nThe ideal candidate shall possess a bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or supply chain.\nEXPERIENCE:\nRequires 2-4 years in purchasing and procurement experience in a manufacturing setting\nThis position requires a minimum of four (4) years experience working within a MRP environment and scheduling a manufactured product\nMust have basic computer skills\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nAnalytical/Problem solving skills\nPurchasing Processes (Supply Agreements, Blanket Ordering, Vendor Follow-up, etc.)\nComputer skills (Microsoft Office, MAPICS, etc.)\nAble to work independently in a fast-paced environment, have a positive professional demeanor\nPOSITION SUPERVISES:\nNo supervisory responsibilities\nCONTACT WITH OTHERS:\nThe position requires interaction with Suppliers, management, and others requiring procurement services.\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL/COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:\nEmployee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.
