Working with design, quality and production teams, you will support new product introduction (NPI), solve manufacturing problems and improve existing processes.\nManufacturing Engineer Responsibilities\nReview product designs and provide feedback to Design Engineers to improve manufacturability and production efficiency.\nSupport projects from prototype through to production, including coordinating pre-production builds and supporting NPI.\nDesign production jigs and fixtures, and write work instructions and production aid documentation.\nMaintain cycle times, routings, work centres and configuration within SAP.\nIdentify continuous improvement opportunities and assess the costs and benefits of proposed process changes.\nInvestigate and source innovative materials and manufacturing equipment.\nIdentify and implement appropriate production process controls, working with quality and production teams to improve performance.\nAssess supplier capability and process controls, and share lessons learned across design, quality and production.\nSkills and Experience for the Manufacturing Engineer\nA BTEC, HNC, HND or degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.\nAt least three years’ experience in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing industry.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and bills of materials.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing equipment and machinery, and the ability to design jigs and fixtures.\nKnowledge of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing and other process control tools.\nAbility to calculate the financial implications of process implementation and improvement.\nExperience using Microsoft Office, IT systems, databases and software for data manipulation and analysis.\nUnderstanding of Minitab or equivalent statistical software.\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nA full UK driving licence.\nAbout You\nThe Manufacturing Engineer role will suit someone who takes a systematic, hands-on approach to investigating and solving hardware and process problems.\nYou will work effectively with colleagues across engineering, quality and production, with the ability to participate in or lead cross-functional teams. You will use initiative, make decisions within defined procedures and communicate clearly with people at all levels.\nYou will report to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
