This role is not eligible for remote work.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nPurchase goods, materials, and services that meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.\nRequest and evaluate supplier quotations.\nPerform cost analysis on good purchased through should cost, competitive bid, and/or cost breakdown analysis.\nGenerate purchase orders that comply with company requirements. \nCommunicate and work to mitigate any supply problems which may impact our business operations.\nAct as the interface between suppliers and other departments at Gentex.\nIdentify risks and drive solutions to mitigate risks and escalate when needed.\nMonitor market trends and drive favorable actions for Gentex.\nDevelop and implement cost reductions to ensure favorable Purchase Price Variance (PPV) targets are achieved.\nManage supplier relationships and insure two-way professional relationships exist.\nMonitor supplier performance and provide feedback.\nIdentify and assess new suppliers that can meet the cost, quality, and delivery expectations for Gentex.\nOther duties as assigned.\nHOW YOU’LL DO IT\nKnowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.\nGood communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.\nPlanning, negotiations, and contract management experience.\nGood technical knowledge of Purchasing and ERP systems.\nAble to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.\nAble to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations well.\nManage and maintain required documentation.\nDevelop strong supplier relationships.\nMaintaining a high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters. \nComplying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace. \nWHAT TO BRING\nBachelor’s degree.\n3--5 years professional experience.\n1-3 years of purchasing experience.\nEnglish fluent, and other language is a plus.\nWHAT WILL HELP\nRequires a person who is self-motivated.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office software.\nOracle software experience.\nWillingness to travel up to 20% of your time.\nCommodity specific experience and knowledge.Labor or IT software a plus.\nAutomotive industry experience.\n Gentex is an equal opportunity employer\nGentex extends equal employment opportunities to qualified applicants and employees regardless of an individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), disability, marital status, military service, height, weight, genetic information, or any other reason protected by law.\nAssistance\nGentex is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to applicants with disabilities.
