The DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the company's databases. This role includes planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.\nKey Responsibilities:\n Database Management:\nInstall, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.\nMonitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.\nManage database availability and performance, including disaster recovery, database backup and restore procedures.\nData Security:\nImplement and enforce database security protocols to ensure data privacy and protection.\nConduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.\nPerformance Tuning:\nAnalyze and optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization.\nImplement best practices for database design and development to improve efficiency.\nData Integrity:\nEnsure data integrity and accuracy through regular database maintenance and validation checks.\nDevelop and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.\nUser Support:\nProvide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to database users.\nCollaborate with developers and IT staff to design and implement database solutions.\nProject Management:\nParticipate in the planning and execution of IT projects involving databases.\nWork with project teams to determine database requirements and design solutions.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\nProven experience as a Database Administrator, with hands-on experience in database management.\nProficiency with database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PolarDB, MongoDB and etc.\nStrong knowledge of database structure, theories, principles, and practices.\nExperience with database security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nPreferred Skills:\n Microsoft Database Certifications:\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate - This certification validates skills related to implementing and managing operational aspects of cloud-native and hybrid data platform solutions built on Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure Data Services.\nMicrosoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate - This certification is designed for those who enable businesses to maximize the value of their data assets using Microsoft Power BI.\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert - Although broader in scope, this certification demonstrates advanced proficiency in designing and implementing solutions that run on Microsoft Azure, including aspects related to database services.\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate - This certification focuses on designing and implementing data solutions that use Azure data services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and related technologies.\nExperience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, PolarDB).\nFamiliarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.\nKnowledge of data warehousing, big data technologies, and business intelligence tools.\nBe part of an exciting history-in-the-making, help shape the future with us.
