You will leverage your technical expertise, including AI & Cloud platforms to design, build, and deliver solutions across multiple customers, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and aligned with diverse business requirements.\nIn this senior role, you will work on complex, high-impact projects, lead the delivery of robust integration and transformation processes, and mentor others in engineering best practices. You will help drive the transition from traditional BI solutions to AI-powered insights, leveraging AI models and services to automate analytics, enhance predictions, and improve decision-making.\n\nOperating in the Data & Analytics space, you will contribute to mission-critical solutions for large-scale clients across the APAC region, aligning with our commitment to delivering and supporting cutting-edge technology.\n\nIn addition to this you will;\nSupport initiatives run by the GSTF and demonstrate our company values by providing a clear commitment to environmental and social responsibility. \nContribute through identifying/proposing local sustainable practices and ideas in accordance with our Sustainability Charter.\nUtilise our sustainability app by taking part in challenges and improving behaviors to be more sustainable.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n The Specifics\nActively contribute to the data engineering platform, tools, and processes, ensuring they remain scalable, secure, and AI-ready.\nLead the design, build, and optimisation of Snowflake architecture, integrating Snowflake Cortex AI for advanced analytics and natural language querying.\nOversee code management CI/CD data engineering frameworks and release strategies in Bitbucket/Git, ensuring smooth deployments and environment consistency across regions and countries while safeguarding the global core model.\nLead technical conversations with stakeholders to define AI use cases, set priorities, and align delivery plans with business outcomes.\nMentor and coach engineers on integration techniques, modern data engineering practices, and solution design.\nDevelop and manage robust ETL/ELT processes for data model construction using SQL, Python, JavaScript, Matillion, and AI-enabled transformation frameworks.\nConfigure and administer AWS services (S3, IAM, Bedrock) for data storage, integration, and security.\nImplement and maintain disaster recovery plans, backup strategies, and high-availability configurations.\nLeverage tools like Qlik Replicate for large-scale, high-volume data ingestion and replication.\nEnsure all solutions meet compliance, privacy, and RBAC requirements, including encryption at rest and in transit.\nMaintain detailed documentation and foster knowledge sharing across data engineering practices.\nAdvantage - Design and implement AI-driven data workflows using AWS Bedrock and other AI services to automate insights and predictions.\nAdvantage - Migrate and evolve BI solutions into AI-enhanced dashboards, chat interfaces, and automated reporting tools.\nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\n What we're looking for(you don’t need to be a guru at all, we’re looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you):\n 8+ years of Data Engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity.\nProven experience owning and evolving data engineering processes, tools, and platform standards to support AI and advanced analytics.\nHands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex AI for natural language data querying, summarisation, and advanced analysis.\nHands-on experience with Talend, AWS Data Migration Services, SnowSQL, Snowpipe, Snowpark\nUtilities/Energy sector knowledge advantageous\nExperience working in Data Consulting or professional services environments is an advantage\nAbility to lead conversations with stakeholders to define data strategies and deliverables.\nExperience converting BI solutions into AI-powered insights and self-service analytics tools.\nStrong track record of mentoring and coaching engineers in data engineering.\nExpertise in Snowflake, advanced ANSI SQL, and data-driven data transformation methods.\nProficiency in Python and JavaScript for automation tasks.\nExperience managing Git/Bitbucket codebases, branching strategies, and release pipelines.\nStrong understanding of governance, compliance, data privacy, and secure data deployment.\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Management, or equivalent.\nCan-do attitude with a focus on delivering excellence.\nOptimistic outlook with common sense and a sense of humour.\nHigh levels of energy, sound judgment, and determination with a sense of urgency.\nExceptional attention to detail.\nExcellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.\nOpenminded consultative approach.\nAbility to give and receive positive and constructive feedback.\nCreative problem-solving skills.\nJob Benefits\n What we offer in return:\nPersonal growth - in leadership, commercial acumen and technical excellence \nTo be part of a global, winning high growth organization - with a career path to match\nA vibrant, culture full of people passionate about transformation and making a difference -with a one team, collaborative ethos \nA competitive reward package that truly awards our top talent \nA chance to make a true impact on society and the planet\n\nGentrack want to work with the best people, no matter their background.
