The role is responsible for managing engineering resources, overseeing contractor activities, and maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and equipment performance. The Engineering Team Leader & Contractor Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring plant uptime, supporting production & site needs, and driving continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead the engineering team to deliver planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance.\n\nEnsure all maintenance activities are planned, prepared, and executed safely and efficiently.\n\nFinalise and manage the maintenance schedule in coordination with the Engineering Coordinator.\n\nAlign maintenance plans with Production Planning and ensure adherence.\n\nAttend daily production meetings to communicate engineering priorities and updates.\n\nMaintain accurate CMMS data, asset records, and work documentation.\n\nIdentify and implement engineering improvements to enhance reliability and performance.\n\nAct as the primary point of contact for all engineering contractors.\n\nManage contractor scheduling, access, permits, and coordination of work.\n\nEnsure contractors are inducted, competent, compliant, and approved to work.\n\nReview and verify RAMS, permits, and safety documentation (including correct LOTO).\n\nConduct point-of-work safety checks and intervene to stop unsafe work.\n\nEnsure all contractor work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standard.\n\nManage day-to-day engineering team resources, including attendance, holidays, and sickness.\n\nSupport team development through coaching, mentoring, and competency growth.\n\nEnsure full compliance with HSE rules and promote a strong safety culture.\n\nMaintain high housekeeping standards and support 6S activity on site.\n\nLead and participate in CI initiatives including Kaizen, 6S, and waste-reduction activities.\n\nIdentify operational waste and drive corrective actions and improvement projects.\n\nProvide technical input and support on engineering projects, including parts specification.\n\nSkills and Requirements:\nNVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering, BTEC Higher National Certificate preferred.\n\nMinimum 5 years post-qualification engineering experience with safety driven mindset.\n\nProven experience in engineering within manufacturing environment.\n\nExperience leading or supervising teams with ability to mentor and develop.\n\nCompetent with CMMS, MS Office, and KPIs.\n\nEffective planning and prioritisation.\n\nStrong understanding of RAMS, PTW, LOTO, and contractor control with good experience in contractor management.\n\nBenefits:\nMonday to Friday, onsite role, 38 hours per week\n\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\nUp to 8% matched pension\n\nCompany Sick Pay\n\nShare save Scheme\n\nLife assurance\n\nVarious health & wellbeing initiatives including complimentary occupational health on-site physiotherapy and counselling services\n\nStaff discount on all Genuit Group products\n\nHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
