This role involves close collaboration with R&D, production, and procurement teams to deliver innovative solutions that advance civil and geotechnical engineering practices.\nThe ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a passion for innovation, and the ability to manage complex projects with precision.\nAbout the Team\nYou will be part of our Automated Products division, a multidisciplinary team dedicated to developing high-precision laboratory equipment used by engineers and researchers worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experts across R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to enhance system reliability, manufacturability, and user experience.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and refine electrical and automated systems for the geotechnical laboratory equipment industry\nProduce detailed schematics, layouts, and technical documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulations\nPerform feasibility studies, component selection, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization\nSupport R&D and production teams in resolving electrical and integration issues\nManage project scope, timelines, and resources to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables\nInterface with suppliers and vendors to source components, negotiate contracts, and ensure specification compliance\nQualifications:\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field\n5-8 years of experience in designing electro-mechanical systems and controllers, preferably in laboratory equipment or industrial automation\nStrong understanding of control systems, PID control, sensors, actuators, and embedded system integration\nExperience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools for electrical design\nSkilled in using lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, protocol analyzers) for debugging and testing\nFamiliarity with ISO, EN, UL, and other relevant industry standards\nAdditional qualifications:\nExperience with FSM, ISR, DAC/ADC interfacing\nKnowledge of microcontrollers and SoCs (8051, ARM, ESP, RP2040, Zynq)\nProficiency in Verilog/VHDL for RTL design, synthesis, and verification\nPCB layout experience using tools like Altium Designer\nExperience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, Subversion)\nProgramming experience in C, C++, Python, or assembly for embedded systems\nExposure to Matlab and simulation tools for technical modeling and analysis\nExperience with setting up communication systems (Ethernet, RS-485, CAN-Open) \nBackground or interest in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, or related disciplines\nFamiliarity with simulation tools for electrical systems.\nBenefits Package:\nBase salary range: $130,000 - $140,000 per year (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
