{"id":1647083,"url":"https://alion.io/job/georg-fischer-ehs-manager","title":"EHS Manager","company":{"id":451085,"name":"Georg Fischer","domain":"georgfischer.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/georgfischer","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":80,"open_postings":80,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.788,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":39,"computed_at":"2026-10-10T05:45:15Z"}},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Irvine, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":100000,"max":150000,"currency":"USD","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":150000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-01T23:59:49Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-01","last_verified_at":"2026-10-11T19:26:16Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":9,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":9},"description":"The EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security program is managed in alignment with ISO 9001, 45001 and ISO 14001 management system standards in two locations: Irvine, CA and Irwindale, CA.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities:\nDevelops and maintains site-specific EHS programs, policies, procedures and training modules to meet regulatory, business unit, division and corporate requirements.\nMaintains in-depth knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health, safety and security regulations.\nMonitors and implements programs to meet the GF Corporate Strategy, which includes the GF Sustainability Framework.\nCompletes EHS audits in accordance with facility schedules and ensures appropriate corrective actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner.\nImplements environmental, health and safety education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.\nSupports environmental, health and safety programs and training to ensure that safe operations and working conditions exist.\nMaintains regulatory required reporting (permitting fees, SARA 311-312-313 and TIER II reports, OSHA log, Air Quality).\nMaintains environmental management system - ISO 14001, health and safety management system - ISO 45001 and energy management system - ISO 50001.\nComplies with the ISO 9001 quality management system.\nLeads facility-wide recycling and waste disposal programs.\nManages site environmental health and safety teams/committees, including the Emergency Response Team, i.e. medical, chemical spill and/or specialized EHS teams, i.e. ergonomics.\nConducts trends analysis and reporting of results against key EHS metrics, including facility risk assessments.\nCoordinates the accumulation of Hazardous and Non-hazardous waste for off-site disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements.\nSupports and maintain departmental risk reduction activities.\nDevelops environmental, health, safety and security communications (i.e. postings, employee meeting notices, minutes and safety awareness).\nCoordinates Environmental related matters associated with site operations including air, water, waste and chemical/materials managements issues, to include Safety Data Sheets and hazardous/non-hazardous materials and waste storage, identification, and manifesting for proper disposal.\nInvestigates accidents and near misses making sure root-cause analysis, containment and corrective actions are completed.\nManages and follow-up on all workers' compensation claims.\nPrepares mandatory safety alerts for near misses and work related injuries, as well as environmental alerts for environmental incidents.\nActs as the Site EHS representative with company associates, customers, vendors, contractors, government officials and the public in all areas of environmental, health and safety.\nAudits comp compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems, including \"non-benefit\" insurance policies such as Property Insurance, Liability Insurance, EPL, etc.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nKnowledge of OSHA, EPA, DHS and State of Arkansas, California and Pennsylvania regulations.\nExcellent communication skills with all levels within the organization.\nProficient in Microsoft software package.\nKnowledge using SAP a plus.\nHigh-energy individual who is goal-oriented and results-driven\nAbility to work with cross-functional teams.\nProven self-starter; takes the initiative to identify and drive change.\nAbility to plan time, manage deadlines, and multi-task.\nExcellent problem solving skills.\nExcellent leadership skills.\nReliable, flexible and self-motivated.\nStrong and analytical skills.\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh School Diploma required.\nBachelors of Science Degree in Safety, Environmental, Natural Sciences or other related education degree preferred.\nFive plus (5+) years' manufacturing experience preferred.\nPrevious people management experience.\nExperience implementing and maintaining an ISO 14001 environmental management system.\nExperience implementing and maintaining an ISO 45001 occupational, health and safety management system.\nExperience implementing and maintaining an ISO 50001 energy management system.\nRCRA Hazardous Waste Certification preferred.\nDOT Hazardous Materials Certification preferred\nCertified OSHA Trainer is a plus\nEmergency Medical Technician is a plus\nWorking Conditions / Physical Requirements:\nTypical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas\nMust be able to lift 40lbs. in a safe manner\nClarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast and repetitious operation for an extended period of time\nExposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required)\nExposure to chips and dust (eye protection required)\nMust be capable of maintaining a 40-hour workweek and working overtime as needed\nMust be able to perform repetitive motion.
