The Accounting Supervisor maintains the integrity of accounting records by ensuring that staff comply with organizational accounting policies and procedures.\nThis position also collaborates with the Director, Accounting & Controls, for timely and accurate general accounting and financial reporting functions. Specific areas include the maintenance and preparation of periodic financial reports, establishing internal controls and policies, Tasks include: month end close, reviewing and completing balance sheet reconciliations, tracking, and resolving variances, completing the General Ledger, preparing scheduled reports, and ensuring that accounting data is accurate and deadlines are met. This position is also responsible for preparing tax documents for external auditors, working with the corporate office on tax laws, and managing the sales/use tax filing and reporting.\nThis role is considered a HYBRID position with onsite work at our headquarters in Apple Valley, Minnesota.\nWhat will you do?\nManages General Accounting\nManages general accounting functions including cost accounting and fixed assets. Maintains compliance with GAAP/IFRS and other government regulations.\nEnsures the accurate and timely general ledger and period-end closings.\nPrepares or supervises the preparation of balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, cash flow data, and other reports for external and internal reporting.\nReviews or prepares asset and liability reconciliations to ensure integrity and accuracy. \nManages AP\nManages the AP function while ensuring timely accurate entering/matching of supplier invoices as well ensuring proper timely payment to maximize the Company’s cash flow.\nManages the cash application function ensuring timely and proper application of payments to customer accounts.\nDevelops policies and procedures regarding bill payment and billing investigations.\nEnsures proper controls measures are in place.\nManaging staff including: staff personnel development, coaching, and periodic reviews and recruiting.\nTax Reporting\nManages the income tax reporting for the annual audit and corporate reporting.\nManages any external tax audit activities as well as other tax initiatives.\nOversees the sales & use tax tracking and filing ensuring timely payment. \nAudit\nIntegral team member in managing Year-End Audit process.\nAssist outside auditors during interim and year-end audits to include preparation and review of audit schedules, providing appropriate supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any additional data as deemed necessary. \nInternal Controls\nRecommends, designs, and implements internal controls and continuous improvements based on department objectives.\nConsults with Director, Accounting & Controls, regarding policy decisions, major expenditures, and any unusual problems.\nSeeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives\nWhat will you need?\nBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA/CMA/MBA a plus.\n8+ years of relevant experience in Accounting or Finance, with previous managerial experience.\nMust have an understanding of general ledger accounting, and strong technical and accounting skills.\nExcellent computer skills (MS Office suite, and accounting software including advanced Excel required, experience with Oracle and OneStream preferred. \nStrong organizational skills and must be extremely detail oriented. \nProven ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines. \nEffectively work independently, with the ability to adapt to new systems and collaborate cross-functionally. \nProven ability for identifying opportunities and driving results. \nMust have developed customer/colleague relationship skills with strong service orientation.\nWhat will you get?\nBest-in-class health benefits (medical, dental, vision)\n160 hours paid time off (combination of PTO and Employee Safe and Sick Time accruals- MN Based Employees) \nFor more information: https://www.uponorcareers.com/en-us/employee-benefits\nDisclaimers\nApplicable to US job postings only (not Canada): The expected compensation range for this position is $88,298-$132,447/year.
