This position is required to maintain accurate and legible production reports. Extrusion operators are responsible for machine set ups, changeovers, selecting dies and changing dies up to 10 per day. Extrusion operators are responsible for all quality related aspects of our internal and industry (UL, NSF) specifications prior to shipping or being ran through any secondary processes. Operators will handle basic troubleshooting of the various extruders and auxiliary equipment, conduct daily preventative maintenance checks, and elevate any issues to the Area Lead if they are not able to address it themselves. Safely operate moving equipment to move pallets of product to proper location. Operators are expected to be active in our continuous improvement program to help make the business more successful.\nResponsibilities:\nSafely operate computer-controlled equipment according to procedures, major processes include perform die (tool) changes, changeovers, in-process checks and adjustments.\n\nAs reels fill to capacity, perform necessary reel changes per written procedures.\n\nTo verify product quality, accurately uses precision measuring devices to monitor pipe dimensions.\n\nAccurately and legibly record all required data on production report (hardcopy or electronic)\n\nMaintain work area to company 6S standards by keeping all tools and equipment in designated areas; perform operator Preventative Maintenance on equipment\n\nCollect and submit Quality samples as required\n\nSeeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in lean initiatives.\n\nRequirements:\nHigh school education or equivalent is required.\n\nGood math skills are required, including familiarity with the metric system.\n\nBasic computer skills are required.\n\nBasic mechanical and technical skills are required.\n\nMust be able to problem solve, multitask/prioritize and pay attention to detail.\n\nMust be able to work a 12-hour shift.\n\nManufacturing experience of 1-3 years is preferred but not required.\n\nDisclaimers:\nApplicable to US job postings only (not Canada): The expected compensation range for this position is $20.50-$27.22/hour.
