We offer competitive pay and benefits, and well-being programs to support you and your family.\nTo Learn More Visit: http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDraft, edit, & finalize technical drawings.\nOperate a CAD computer using appropriate hardware and software to develop final drawings.\nTransfer information from an engineering drawing to a final CAD drawing using appropriate symbols and drafting standards.\nAnalyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine the best approach to complete drawings.\nCopy detailed plans and drawings and perform non-routine complex drafting assignments.\nOperate plotter, printer, scanner, and other input/output devices.\nProofread CAD drawings for accuracy, format, and grammar.\nParticipate in CAD Action Group, by supporting, networking, and collaborating to improve CAD standards and efficiencies across the company.\nWork collaboratively with other Geosyntec CADD practitioners to prepare design drawings and details and review completed work products to ensure quality.\nDrive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.\nSkills, Experience and Qualifications\nAssociate’s Degree in Drafting; or graduation from an accredited high school and a minimum of one (1) year experience performing CAD drafting work in a professional setting, or equivalent education, experience and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. (required)\nKnowledge of engineering basics, including sheet organization, topographical data, scales, and coordinate systems. (preferred)\nExperience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data and files. (preferred)\nExperience with mechanical design. (preferred)\nExperience using the latest releases of Autodesk AutoCAD. Knowledge of AutoCAD includes but is not limited to Annotation Styles, Multileaders, MTEXT, Dimensions, Sheet Sets, Paper Space / Model Space, XREFs, Layers, Dynamic Blocks, and Tool Palettes. (required)\nWorking knowledge of the latest releases of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D. (required)\nBasic understanding of the latest releases of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype, Adobe PDF, and Windows File Explorer. (required)\nStrong reasoning, mathematical, and geometrical skills. Ability to perform basic math skills, including applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. (required)\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, CAD Managers, or others on the project team. Strong communication skills to include the ability to understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and the ability to interact effectively to maintain a team environment. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees.
