This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems across the facility while supporting new equipment integration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.\nWhat You Will Do:\nLead and develop a team of electrical power and electronics engineers/technicians;\nOversee design, installation, and maintenance of facility electrical power systems (480V/240V distribution, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators);\nOwn electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation;\nProvide engineering support for machine-level electrical systems: power distribution, drives, controls electronics, sensors, and wiring;\nPartner with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation teams on equipment installations and upgrades;\nLead root-cause analysis for electrical failures, downtime events, and equipment reliability issues;\nEnsure electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC/electronics interfaces are maintained and updated;\nManage external contractors, integrators, and vendors as required;\nDrive continuous improvement in power reliability, energy efficiency, and electrical safety;\nProvide capital project support including scope development, design review, and commissioning; and\nServe as Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction.\nEducation and Licensure\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field. (preferred)\nSkills, Experience and Qualifications\nRequired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications\nDue to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance. (required)\nHealth & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)\n7+ years of experience in power electronics design and development\nProven leadership experience in managing engineering teams\nStrong knowledge of electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation\nKnowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and simulation tools\nExperience in manufacturing and/or nuclear industry. \nPreferred Qualifications and Location Details\nActive Q clearance is strong preferred. \nProject Management experience. \nFamiliarity with embedded systems and firmware development. \nOnsite position in Oak Ridge\nOne-year base assignment with possibility of extension and/or conversion after.\nPlease note that marijuana remains a Schedule III controlled substance under Federal Law.
