We offer competitive pay and benefits, and well-being programs to support you and your family.\nTo Learn More Visit: http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nThe Work Control Planner IV develops and/or reviews work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area. Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures and may also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure. Serve as the primary contact on electrical safety and administer the LANL Electrical Safety Program.\nSafety and security are a primary responsibility for all Laboratory employees. Assure safety and security compliance, maintain required safety and security training, and make safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security;\nPrepare, review, and issue equipment and/or system modification, corrective maintenance, and/or preventative maintenance work packages for unique and/or complex activities in unique and/or complex facilities in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations;\nAnalyze time and material requirements for unique and/or complex work activities;\nPrepare detailed specifications for materials and labor estimates for unique and/or complex activities;\nTake the lead in developing step-by-step instructions for work for unique and/or complex activities;\nManage and expedite established priority of work packages;\nPrepare and/or review efficient and specific instructions for the isolation, containment or de-energization of various unique and/or complex mechanical, physical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological systems according to established procedures and regulations;\nManage various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development including, but not limited to, permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, retrieval and review, and/or training;\nUnderstand and adhere to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to work control and planning;\nEnsure all work control results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements; and\nFoster a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.\nEducation and Licensure\nBachelor's Degree in related field. (required)\nSkills, Experience and Qualifications\nAt least 12 years of relevant field experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. \nUnique knowledge of and broad experience with unique and/or complex work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance.\nExtensive knowledge and understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures in unique and/or complex facilities.\nIn-depth understanding and ability to interpret various unique and/or complex mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.\nAbility to fully utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work- planning activities.\nExtensive experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solution on unique and/or complex problems affecting work control and planning.\nAbility to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning for unique and/or complex activities, both technical and non-technical personnel.\nDemonstrated exceptional skill in the preparation and presentation of work control reports.\nExtensive knowledge and understanding of the Laboratory's work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures.\nExtensive knowledge and understanding of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting work control and planning.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision. \nDue to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. \nDue to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance. \nSuccessful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
