Geotab is seeking a Field Service Technical Specialist who will support customers, installers, product teams, and field service initiatives through technical expertise, installation quality, and innovative solutions. If you love automotive technology, customer collaboration, and solving complex technical challenges, and are keen to join an industry leader - we would love to hear from you!\nWhat you'll do:\nAs a Field Service Technical Specialist, your key area of responsibility will be supporting product development, customer implementations, installation partners, pilot programs, and field service quality. You will provide technical support for product design, installations, testing, troubleshooting, installer certification, audits, documentation, and strategic initiatives. You will work closely with Product, R&D, Sales, Field Services, Learning and Development, customers, resellers, and installation partners to ensure Geotab solutions are designed, installed, and supported effectively.\nTo be successful in this role, you will be organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You will bring strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, relationship-building, and customer service skills, along with the ability to learn new technical information and share it effectively with others. \nHow you'll make an impact:\nProvide design support for the New Product team, analyzing user’s requirements, defining product specifications, field and simulation testing. \n\nSupport customers with technical details, technical specifications and data requirements based on Geotab product offerings. \n\nSupport sales with technical applications based on requirements from Resellers / Customers. \n\nSupport Installation partners and their installers real time when necessary. \n\nProvide specific technical installation requirements and wiring schematics \n\nStay relevant to new advances in technology and be flexible to adapt to the growing market demands. \n\nBe innovative through researching and presenting new ideas. \n\nCreate and Implement Installer Certification Tests \n\nUpdate modules with latest Geotab Product information \n\nParticipate in installer performance evaluation and audits. \n\nEnsure company installation quality standards are communicated and adhered to in the field. \n\nUpdate all installation documents and product guides with latest information. \n\nWork with installers to ensure they understand and use the Field Services department price list for installation services. \n\nWhen required, perform installations in the field as a part of an installation demonstration, installation training or Pilot projects. \n\nCreate Installation videos and guides by taking photo sets and video content in conjunction with our L&D Teams. \n\nSend out feedback surveys, support Field Services invoicing processes, and update the ticketing system. \n\nContinually seek and suggest methods to improve both internal and external systems and processes within the organization, especially as related to installations and onsite services. \n\nSource and qualify new installation partners. \n\nResolve installer issues and concerns. \n\nSupport Geotab global strategic initiatives.\n\nWhat you'll bring to this role:\nPost-Secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience required. \n\nExperience working as an installation field service specialist in Telematics, Automotive industry, or equivalent. \n\nExperience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, and serial data interfaces. \n\nExperience with both hardware and software integration required. \n\nIn-depth knowledge of automotive electronic components. \n\nExperience managing third-party contractor relationships. \n\nProficiency with automotive/electronics test equipment and hand tools. \n\nKnowledge of communications systems and networks, including Cellular, GPS, and serial data. \n\nStrong interpersonal relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills. \n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. \n\nAbility to travel internationally up to 40% of the time. \n\nIf you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role!
