Geotab is seeking a Software Developer who will be part of a team who builds a state of the art telematics platform that makes sense of the data collected by custom-built hardware. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader - we would love to hear from you!\nWhat you'll do:\nAs a Software Developer your key area of responsibility will be writing high-performance Java, Python and Go code and SQL queries to process and store data in real-time, as well as writing JavaScript and TypeScript code to create fast and responsive user interfaces. You will need to work closely with other members of the development and technical teams.\nTo be successful in this role you will be a strong team-player with an entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in a flat organization, highly organized, and able to work well under pressure to respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines. This may be in the form of on-call or ad-hoc questions \nrelating to how certain features work or verifying the behaviour by reviewing code.\nResearch new language features, frameworks and other relevant technologies and offer recommendations to Leads and senior leaders.\nAssist in defining best practices to be used in the team.\nProvide design documents and documentation to ensure efficient maintenance and code reuse.\nEnsure the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and system architecture for each assignment.\nParticipate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule.\nWhat you'll bring to the role:\n1 - 5 years of required previous experience in a related field.\nPost-secondary Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\nKnowledge of multiple general purpose programming languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python), as well as experience with Python, Google Compute Engine, and Google BigQuery.\nWorking knowledge of Cloud computing experience with GCP, AWS and/or Azure.\nTechnical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and engage with all levels of the organization.\nIf you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this role!
