We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanicat our Bradley Steel Processors - Winnipeg, MB facility.\nJob summary:\nReporting to the location's Supervisor, your focus will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing problems with all production related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the product produced is of highest quality. Our ideal candidate will champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement. \nOur ideal candidate will be able to:\nWork the following shift with a starting hourly rate of $28.23: 12 hour shift: Friday - Sunday Days 7:00 am- 8:00 pm (paid 1 hour break which includes coffee breaks too)\n\nProvide us with a criminal background check by uploading it in \"attachment documents\" when uploading resume or at time of interview\nWork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with extremely hot materials while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)\nPrimary duties and responsibilities:\nEnsure maintenance inventory is appropriate for routine maintenance activities\nLiaise with plant facilities/maintenance suppliers to provide cost improvement initiatives\nCoordination of day-to-day plant maintenance priorities\nAssist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs\nMonitor and adjust, if necessary, the plant/office environmental control systems\nEnsure regulatory maintenance activities are completed\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nPerform and record daily crane and forklift inspections\nMaintain a clean and environmentally safe work area\nEnsuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs\nCleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on equipment\nWorking Conditions:\nWorks with minimal supervision\n39 hour work week\nFast-paced manufacturing environment\nPhysically demanding\nFrequent standing, bending, walking, and stretching\nLifting of light and heavy materials\nNoisy working area\nHot and humid conditions during the summer period\nShift timings might change depending on Operational requirements\n Education / Experience Requirements:\nCompletion of high school or GED\nMinimum of three (3) years of practical maintenance/repair experience\nGood hydraulic, mechanical and electrical experience\nGood practical welding skills and experience on Robot programming and setup\nGood computer skills and ability to understand machine’s blueprints\nGood written and verbal communication skills\nStrong problem-solving abilities\nGood time management and organizational skills\nExperience and/or knowledge of HVAC systems and boilers is a definite asset\nExperience and/or knowledge of PLC systems and programming is a definite asset\nPhysically capable of performing the role\nAbility to work in a team environment\n Gerdau offers excellent benefits including:\nHSA provided for health and dental benefits \nShort and long term disability\nLife and accidental life insurance\nCompany contributions towards RRSP\nEmployee Assistance Program\nGerdau believes in equal employment opportunity related to all employees and applicants for employment.
