Working closely with the Mill Controller, you will analyze costs, inventory controls, production/consumption data, and capital expenditures to identify trends, improve profitability, and support operational decision-making. You will play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring the integrity of the mill's accounting processes and internal controls.\nYour Work:\nMaintain accurate and timely accounting transactions, records, and financial reports while supporting SOX compliance and internal control activities.\nReview accounts payable transactions for accuracy and timeliness and assist in resolving discrepancies and exceptions.\nMaintain fixed asset records, track and account for capital projects, monitor spending against budgets, and analyze project cost variances.\nManage inventory accounting activities and records to assure accurate recording of production, production costs, shipments, and cost of sales. Responsible for reconciliation of inventory records to the general ledger, cycle count monitoring, and coordination of physical inventory audits.\nCollect, compile, and distribute operational performance reports, including production rates, consumption rates, yields, labor hours, and cost-per-ton metrics, while analyzing performance trends.\nAssist the Mill Controller with monthly manufacturing cost forecasts, income projections, annual budgets, and business planning activities.\nSupport the monthly close process through accrual preparation, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial review activities.\nPerform cost reporting, variance analysis, and what-if analysis to support management decisions and improve control of manufacturing costs.\nPartner with operations and plant leadership to provide financial analysis that drives productivity, cost control, and profitability improvements.\nReview and audit data collection, reporting processes, and financial controls to ensure procedures are followed and information is captured accurately and timely\nGerdau believes in equal employment opportunity related to all employees and applicants for employment.
