We invite you to come work with us, where your contributions are valued, your voice is heard, and your career is forged with purpose\nJob Summary:\nThe Mobile Equipment Operator yard will operate mobile crane, magnet crane, mobile shear, and stationary shear to process scrap materials, load and unload scrap from trucks or railcars, and move scrap within the yard as required.\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:\nFollow all established Gerdau Safety, Environmental, and Routine procedures specific to the yard.\nInspects mobile shear, magnet crane, and stationary shear daily and documents on checklists to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order. \nPerforms daily preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper working order such as lubrication, greasing, fueling, and keeping cab clean. \nInspects for proper scrap grade and safety and environmental concerns such as tanks, cylinders, etc. while shearing.\nShear unprepared material into prepared state identifying size, thickness, and physical dimensions.\nUse magnet crane to load/unload scrap from customer vehicles into appropriate piles or railcars in order to process for shipping.\nUse mobile equipment to lift and move scrap from one area of the yard to another.\nAdditional Responsibilities:\nAssist with yard housekeeping efforts and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.\nAssist co-workers in daily operational duties that are essential to the yard in terms of safety, efficiency, and profitability.\nProblem solving input and contributions as required.\nQualifications and Experience:\nHigh School Education/GED preferred.\nDesire to enhance skills and knowledge to develop as a Gerdau employee\nPromote and practice the core values of Gerdau\nSalary & Benefits:\nMedical and Prescription\nDental\nVision\n401K\nBasic Life/Accidental Life Insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program\nTuition Reimbursement Program\nGerdau believes in equal employment opportunity related to all employees and applicants for employment.
