We invite you to come work with us, where your contributions are valued, your voice is heard, and your career is forged with purpose\nReporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position's main focus will be to inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.\nHourly Rate: $44.72/ hour plus COLA (cost of living allowance). Overtime available.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nReceives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done\nInspects equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication\nFinds the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production\nAdvises when immediate shut down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporary continued operation would have no harmful effect\nTrouble shoots and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic systems and equipment\nAssembles or aligns gears, bearings and shafts involving the application of press, sliding and running fits\nChanges, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions\nInterprets drawings and sketches\nDismantles, cleans repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment\nPerforms routine layout work, fabrication or repair of steel structures and components\nSelects material in accordance with suitability for job and performs burning and mild steel welding\nOperates simple machine tools such as drill press, pipe threading machine and power saw\nErects scaffolds and performs rigging as necessary\nPrepares for workorders, records activities in CMMS \n Our Successful Candidate will have:\nA Red Seal Certification or Provincial Millwright Journeyman Certificate\nExperience in heavy industry\nExposure to PM, Hydraulics, VF drives, PLC's, welding, crane work\nExperience preferably in a manufacturing environment\nDemonstrated mechanical aptitude\nAbility to work a rotating schedule (continental style schedule) 12 hour shifts as well an 8 hour day shift (Monday - Friday)\nStrong communication and work ethic, ability to work in a team and with other trades\nBasic computer experience \n Gerdau offers excellent benefits!\nHealth, dental, vision, short & long term disability\nBasic Life/Accidental Life Insurance \nRRSP with company matching\nEmployee Assistance Program\nGerdau believes in equal employment opportunity related to all employees and applicants for employment.
