Gesher’s workforce development, behavioral health, and inclusion programming serves all Metro Detroiters while meeting the needs of the Jewish community.\nGENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION\nThe Unit Coordinator provides direction, coordination, and consultation for all member activities associated with the units in the Clubhouse/Activity Center.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired:\nHigh School Diploma. Associates or Bachelor’s in sociology, psychology, social work, or related mental health field (preferred).\nOther:\nOver the age of twenty-one\nExperience working with adults with psychiatric disabilities preferred.\nGood written and oral communication skills.\nMust have a valid Michigan driver’s license, insurance and a good driving record.\nMust possess a knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse).\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPromote a supportive, positive, inclusive, stigma-free, work-ordered environment for all Clubhouse members.\nLearn and support roles of the various Clubhouse units and provide coverage for other Clubhouse staff as needed.\nBe available to work on some holidays, evenings, and weekends and to attend special events that support member services and Clubhouse International standards.\nBe available to attend trainings, which may include out of state travel, and to develop/document related progress as required by the agency, funding source, and/or accrediting bodies.\nWork with members, staff, and employers to support placement, offer assessments, training, and coverage for Transitional, Supported, and Independent Employment.\nWork with social, civic, and local organizations to develop partnerships that utilize member volunteers both in the community and for projects on site at the Clubhouse.\nSupport the educational development of members by seeking, providing and encouraging the use of community resources.\nWork with members and staff to plan, prepare and serve meals, stock, organize and maintain the kitchen, and coordinate member participation.\nCoordinate with members on gardening and hydroponic projects.\nPromote wellness and fitness for the physical and emotional health of members by offering related activities, meals, etc.\nLearn and support new Clubhouse Units as the Clubhouse grows.\nProvide timely notes for billing, correspondence, attendance data, receipts, and all other administrative tasks necessary for the efficient functioning of the clubhouse.\nIdentify each member’s barriers and help the member in overcoming those barriers; set up long-term, SMART goals for the member and monitor progress towards those goals.\nCollect, enter and assist in interpreting data relative to member utilization of the various units.\nParticipate in quality control and quality assurance activities completing all paperwork/progress notes pertinent to clubhouse operations and its accreditation.\nMaintain quality and integrity of services for members.\nCompletion of PSR/Clubhouse Assessment and development of goals within 14 days of referral.\nAll Gesher employees are required to always conduct themselves in a professional manner and comply with the standards set forth in the Employee Handbook.\nStaff members are expected to support the mission of Gesher in all activities and act as ambassadors.\nPerforms job duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable Health and Safety policies and procedures.\nAll other duties as assigned by the Clubhouse Director that contribute to the advancement of Gesher as a premier provider of services for people with disabilities.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nEnvironmental conditions:\nModerate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).\nAbility to work in a confined area.\nAbility to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.\nPhysical requirements:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.\nLight to moderate lifting in required.\nAccommodation(s):\nAs appropriate and fiscally reasonable.\nNON-EXEMPT\n This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.\nThe above job description is for general informational purposes only and is not intended to be all inclusive or limiting as to specific duties.
