Gesher’s workforce development, behavioral health, and inclusion programming serves all Metro Detroiters while meeting the needs of the Jewish community.\nGENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION\nTo ensure general cleanliness of assigned sites, to complete all inspection forms in a timely manner, and assist site manager with day-to-day operations.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nHigh school diploma or G.E.D required.\nTwo years of experience as successful documented work history, performing custodial services required.\nDemonstrated experience in the performance of custodial procedures, inventory control, quality control, knowledge and use of janitorial chemicals and equipment.\nAbility to work with handicapped population. Experience in working with multiple crews of custodial workers preferred.\nInterpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with participants, staff and public. Composition skills sufficient to prepare required reports.\nDriving record must meet safe driving standards as established by Agency insurance carrier. Valid Michigan driver’s license.\nWork involves ability to work evening and flexible hours.\nWork involves the ability to pass government security clearance.\nWork involves the ability to push and lift equipment, office furniture and accessories weighing up to 50 pounds.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nSupervise Janitor 1 workers and Day Porter in performance of custodial services as outlined in Performance Work Statement.\nInstruct Janitor 1 and Day Porter in proper custodial procedures by demonstration and modeling.\nPrepare and maintain accurate records as required (administrative, direct labor, and quality control).\nAssign custodial tasks and schedules to all direct labor personnel to accomplish all required contract work.\nResponsible for maintaining quality of custodial services performed.\nMaintain orderly, clean and safe work areas.\nOversee set-up of janitorial carts and equipment to facilitate timely custodial schedule.\nMaintain inventory as required.\nProvide feedback of daily custodial services to Site Manager or designee.\nMeet with Navigators to discuss personnel progress and performance.\nUse modeling and positive reinforcement for appropriate behaviors in interactions with personnel.\nDrive Agency van or vehicles as required.\nCarry out other related duties and/or special assignments as assigned by the Contracting Officer or his representative.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nEnvironmental conditions:\nModerate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).\nAbility to work in a confined area.\nAbility to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. \nPhysical requirements:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, reach, stoop, kneel to install computer equipment.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.\nLight to moderate lifting in required. \nAccommodation(s):\nAs appropriate and fiscally reasonable.\nNON-EXEMPT\nThis position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act\nThe above job description is for general informational purposes only and is not intended to be all inclusive or limiting as to specific duties.
