If you want to change how an entire profession works, you’ll fit in here.\nThe Role\nWe are hiring a Founding Product Designer to define how customers experience Clark.\nThis is a product design role focused on turning complex AI workflows into intuitive, trustworthy software. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Audit Engineers, and customers to understand how professionals work today and design the interfaces, workflows, and systems that make AI feel reliable in high-stakes environments.\nAs one of the first designers at Clark, you'll have significant ownership over our product experience-from early concepts and user research through polished production designs. You'll help establish our design language, influence product direction, and shape how customers interact with AI every day.\nWhy This Role Matters\nClark is building software for professionals performing high-trust work.\nOur users need to understand what the system is doing, why it's doing it, and where their judgment matters. Great product design isn't about making software look good-it's about making complex AI workflows feel trustworthy, fast, and intuitive.\nThe Founding Product Designer will help define how customers experience Clark, ensuring our products are not only powerful but approachable, transparent, and delightful to use.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign intuitive end-to-end product experiences across Clark's core platform\n\nPartner closely with Engineering, Product, Audit Engineers, and customers to understand workflows and translate them into thoughtful product experiences\n\nOwn the design process from discovery and wireframes through high-fidelity mockups and production-ready specifications\n\nCreate intuitive workflows for AI-powered audit and accounting products\n\nConduct user research, gather feedback, and iterate quickly based on customer insights\n\nBuild and evolve Clark's design system, interaction patterns, and visual language\n\nDesign for clarity, trust, accessibility, and usability across complex enterprise workflows\n\nCollaborate closely with engineers to ensure a high-quality implementation of product designs\n\nHelp establish design best practices and raise the quality bar across the organization\n\nWho You Are\n3+ years of experience designing modern software products\n\nStrong portfolio demonstrating exceptional product thinking, interaction design, and visual design\n\nExpert in Figma and modern product design workflows\n\nExperience designing complex web applications or enterprise software\n\nStrong systems thinking and ability to simplify complex user workflows\n\nComfortable collaborating closely with engineers throughout implementation\n\nHigh ownership with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments\n\nExcellent communication skills and strong product intuition\n\nStrong attention to detail and pride in crafting products users love\n\nBonus\nExperience designing AI-native or agentic products\n\nExperience building enterprise workflow software or productivity tools\n\nExperience designing for highly regulated or trust-sensitive industries\n\nExperience creating and maintaining scalable design systems\n\nExperience conducting customer research and usability testing\n\nExperience at an early-stage startup\n\nThe Environment\n5 days a week on-site in NYC -
