If you want to change how an entire profession works, you’ll fit in here.\nThe Role\nWe are hiring Senior Platform Engineers to build the product and systems through which customers experience Clark.\nYou will own features from initial customer problem through frontend experience, backend architecture, data models, integrations, deployment, and production operation.\nThis is a broad engineering role for someone who enjoys moving across the stack, working directly with users, and solving the highest-leverage technical problem regardless of where it lives.\nYou will help build customer-facing workflows, integrations, shared services, internal tools, and the engineering foundation that allows Clark to scale.\nWhy This Role Matters\nClark’s customers operate across complex workflows involving documents, accounting systems, workpapers, approvals, evidence, and collaboration. Our product must make those workflows simpler without sacrificing reliability, security, or control.\nFull-stack engineers turn Clark’s AI capabilities into complete products that customers can deploy, understand, and trust. They also build the integrations and platform foundations that allow Clark to connect with existing systems and support increasingly complex enterprise workflows.\nThe systems you build will directly affect customer adoption, product velocity, reliability, and Clark’s ability to scale.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and ship customer-facing product features from frontend through backend\n\nBuild intuitive interfaces for complex audit and accounting workflows\n\nDesign APIs, services, data models, background jobs, and application architecture\n\nWork with AI engineers to turn AI capabilities into reliable, reviewable product experiences\n\nBuild integrations, connectors, synchronization systems, and data-ingestion workflows\n\nConnect Clark with accounting platforms, document repositories, workflow tools, and customer systems\n\nBuild shared services and reusable product infrastructure\n\nImprove application reliability, stability, scalability, and performance\n\nImprove observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling\n\nImprove testing, deployment, and release processes\n\nInvestigate production issues and resolve performance bottlenecks\n\nIntegrate internal systems such as CRM, support, knowledge, communication, and operational tools\n\nPartner directly with customers, Audit Engineers, Customer Success, Implementation, Sales, and Product\n\nTranslate ambiguous customer and business problems into well-designed technical solutions\n\nMaintain high standards for security, data protection, maintainability, and operational excellence\n\nHelp establish the engineering practices and technical foundations that Clark will scale on\n\nWho You Are\n5+ years of software engineering experience\n\nExperience building and operating production web applications\n\nStrong frontend and backend engineering fundamentals\n\nAble to independently own features across user experience, application logic, data, and infrastructure\n\nExperience designing APIs, data models, background processing, and integrations\n\nExperience with modern web applications, relational databases, and cloud infrastructure\n\nStrong product sense and empathy for customers\n\nComfortable working directly with users and incorporating feedback quickly\n\nExcellent judgment around reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability\n\nComfortable debugging across application, integration, and infrastructure boundaries\n\nAble to balance speed with long-term technical quality\n\nHigh ownership, strong communication, and comfort operating in ambiguous environments\n\nExcited to operate in person with a fast-moving, talent-dense team\n\nBonus\nExperience building enterprise SaaS or complex workflow products\n\nExperience building APIs, integrations, connectors, or data-synchronization systems\n\nExperience with accounting systems, document-management systems, or professional-services workflows\n\nExperience building products that incorporate LLMs or other AI capabilities\n\nExperience with platform engineering, developer tooling, observability, or production reliability\n\nExperience building internal tools and workflow automation\n\nExperience with security, identity, access control, compliance, or regulated customer environments\n\nExperience at an early-stage startup\n\nThe Environment\n5 days a week on-site in NYC -
