In Cluj-Napoca they are building a small, close-knit operations team with direct access to German and international customers.\nAbout the role\nKeep business-critical SAP systems running, day and night.\nCustomers trust the client to run their SAP systems as a managed service. Most of these are SAP on-premises installations in the client’s own private cloud or in RISE with SAP environments.\nAs a German-speaking SAP Basis Operations Administrator, you monitor these systems, react to alerts and handle incidents and service requests. You work with clear procedures and defined runbooks, and experienced SAP Basis colleagues are always there to support you.\nThis is a genuine entry point into SAP Basis. You don’t need to be an expert on day one. You’ll start with monitoring and routine operations, then grow into lifecycle tasks such as kernel updates, patching and system refreshes.\nResponsibilities:\nMonitor SAP applications, databases and servers, and react to alerts following defined runbooks.\n\nHandle incidents and service requests in the IT service management tool, in line with agreed service levels.\n\nEscalate to senior SAP Basis teams when an issue needs expert help.\n\nCarry out routine operations: daily system checks, backup checks and job monitoring.\n\nSupport standard lifecycle and maintenance tasks such as kernel updates, patching, certificate renewals and system refreshes.\n\nWork with automation and AI-supported monitoring tools (e.g. n8n), document your work and help improve runbooks.\n\nCommunicate with customers in German and English, and follow security and compliance rules in regulated environments.\n\nQualifications:\nRequired\nIT-related studies or comparable practical experience.\n\nGood basic IT knowledge: Linux, Windows Server and networks (TCP/IP, DNS).\n\nA structured way of working and the ability to follow defined procedures carefully.\n\nA service mindset: you care about reliable systems and clear communication.\n\nMotivation to learn SAP Basis and new technologies.\n\nWillingness to work in a 24/7 shift model.\n\nGerman (B2 or higher) and English (B2).\n\nNice to have\nFirst experience in IT operations, service desk or system administration, ideally in 24/7 or shift environments.\n\nFirst contact with SAP systems and/or databases.\n\nExperience with a ticket system and ITIL-based processes such as incident and change management.\n\nAbout the offer\nOur client offers a supportive setup and a clear path to grow:\nSAP Basis, learned on the job.
