You just found it.\nParagonix Technologies (www.paragonixtechnologies.com) is a rapidly growing medical device company disrupting organ transplant. Our dynamic team is committed to improving the lives of transplant patients by providing advanced technologies to ensure optimal preservation for donor organs on the journey to their ultimate recipients. Paragonix's office facilities are in Waltham, MA. Our company provides the leading commercial system for heart preservation and transportation. We are rapidly expanding into lung, liver, and other abdominal organs as well as digital platforms to support the transplant process. As a member of the Paragonix R&D team, this co-op will provide an opportunity to have exposure across the organization while making a direct impact on the surgical outcomes of patients that we design our products for. This individual will be a part of the clinical engineering team in R&D and will support pre-clinical evaluation of current and next-generation products.\nResponsibilities\nOrgan Testing: Support collection and analysis of porcine organs, including but not limited to the following activitiesSetup and breakdown of experiments\nAssisting in organ procurement\nAssisting in organ functional analysis and tissue sample collection \n\nData Analysis: Record experimental measurements and perform basic statistical evaluations to identify data trends.\nTechnical Writing: Document R&D activities by clear test methods, data logs, and technical memos or reports.\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nHigh attention to detail with strong organizational skills\nStrong analytical and critical thinking skills\nRequirements\nCurrently enrolled as a student in a Bachelor’s degree program in a related field, such as Biomedical Engineering or Biology \nAvailable full-time for the duration of the co-op (January - June)\nMust be available to work onsite in Waltham, MA throughout the duration of the co-op.\nMust have reliable transportation to and from the Waltham, Massachusetts, Paragonix location; transportation will not be provided by the company\nMust be willing and able to travel locally to animal research facilities.\nMust be willing and able to handle animal tissue.\nMust be able to adjust work hours to accommodate experimental timepoints.
