Within Digital Health Solutions R&D, we build software and connected systems that power these solutions.\nThe Role\nThe Cloud Engineer owns the cloud platform that our development teams rely on to build and ship products - from architecture and provisioning through to day-to-day operations and continuous improvement.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role, not a coordination role. You will design, build, automate, and operate infrastructure that must be reliable, secure, and easy for product teams to build on. The platform decisions you make set the standard across Digital Health Solutions R&D and influence broader Surgical Workflows engineering practices.\nYou'll join a Cloud Enablement team of two other cloud engineers and a cloud architect, reporting to the Manager of Cybersecurity and Cloud Enablement. You will work closely with solution architects and development teams across the organization.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and configure cloud infrastructure using Terraform across Azure and AWS environments.\n\nBuild and maintain Kubernetes clusters and containerized workload definitions using Helm.\n\nImplement and operate CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.\n\nOperate GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux for declarative, version-controlled infrastructure management.\n\nAutomate operational tasks using Ansible and scripting (Bash, Python) to eliminate manual processes and reduce toil.\n\nIntegrate security controls, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks into infrastructure and delivery pipelines.\n\nProvide guidance and review support to development teams on cloud and infrastructure topics.\n\nWhat You're Accountable For\nThe health and evolution of the cloud platform architecture - scalability, reliability, security, and environment standardization across development, staging, and production.\n\nAll infrastructure defined and managed as code, with no manual configuration drift and full auditability of change.\n\nDevSecOps practices embedded throughout delivery pipelines and infrastructure, including relevant regulatory and security compliance requirements.\n\nComplete and current documentation of infrastructure decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures.\n\nActing as the subject matter expert and escalation point for cloud and infrastructure topics across development teams and architecture reviews.\n\nWhat You Bring\n3-5 years in a cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering role, with production platform experience - not just sandbox projects.\n\nStrong experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.\n\nSolid experience with Kubernetes and Helm for container orchestration, and GitOps tooling including ArgoCD or Flux.\n\nStrong CI/CD skills across Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, with hands-on DevSecOps practice including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance integration.\n\nSolid Linux knowledge - configuration, hardening, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.\n\nStrong containerization skills across the full lifecycle: building, securing, and optimizing Docker images and container runtimes.\n\nProficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) and experience with Ansible or comparable configuration management tooling.\n\nExperience with Azure as the primary cloud platform.\n\nFluency in English.\n\nNice to Have\nFamiliarity with relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL).\n\nExperience in regulated environments or healthcare/medical device software development.\n\nWho You Are\nOwnership mentality - you drive problems to resolution rather than waiting for direction or escalation.\n\nPragmatic and automation-first - you default to eliminate toil, not documenting workarounds.\n\nComfortable being the single point of expertise - you make decisions under uncertainty and stand behind them.\n\nYou find satisfaction in a platform that just works, not in being the hero who fixes it when it breaks.\n\nYou enjoy working in a fast-paced international environment.
