Getinge, a global medical devices company, are looking to recruit a H&S Manager to join our Quadralene team based at our new UK Centre of Excellence in Derby.\nYou will have full responsibility for all H&S related matters for Quadralene and our Centre of Excellence.\nJob Purpose:\nHealth and Safety\nTo develop, implement, monitor and improve the organisation’s H&S Policy and related procedures. \nTo maintain the H&S Management System. \nTo ensure the organisation is fully compliant with relevant H&S legislation. \nTo provide training, guidance, advice and support to managers and employees on all things H&S related. \nTo audit and monitor H&S performance against legal requirements and company expectations, making recommendations for improvement. \nTo lead the accident investigation process. \nTo develop and support risk assessment activities. \n\nEnvironment\nTo promote a legally compliant and positive Environmental culture in keeping with the ethos and objectives of the company. \nTo support the continual improvement of the organisation’s environmental performance. \nDevelop policies to reduce waste, pollution, energy consumption and improve sustainability\n\nKey duties and responsibilities:\nHealth and Safety \nInterpret and apply H&S regulations. \nAdvise, guide and work alongside managers and employees across all departments on the interpretation and application of H&S legislation relating to their activities. \nProvide guidance and training, as necessary, throughout the organisation in order to ensure compliance with existing and emerging regulations. \nDeliver new employee inductions in order to provide an understanding of the organisation’s H&S policy and procedures. \nPerform H&S audits and inspections to ensure that compliance is assured at all locations including customer premises. \nCarry out evaluation of legal compliance audits. \nProvide guidance and training regarding effective risk management for office and field-based employees. \nSource external H&S training for employees with specific H&S roles e.g. First Aiders. \nReview and evaluate current H&S training providers. \nReview existing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work for all activities and make recommendations for improvement. \nReview and update existing COSHH assessments and carry out new assessments for new hazardous substances. \nCarry out incident investigations and produce precise and timely reports with root cause analysis and propose control measures to help prevent recurrence. Report accidents to the HSE (and HSA in Ireland) and insurance company when appropriate. \nWork with the Insurance company to reduce risk. \nManage and motivate staff in line with company policies to ensure that they are fully effective in achieving company objectives. \nProvide support to H&S committees and chair meetings. \nCarry out management review with the Senior Management team. This will include summarizing H&S data and recommending improvement programs.\n\nEnvironment \nDevelop, Maintain and update the Environmental policy and procedures. \nDevelop and promote policies to reduce waste, pollution, energy consumption and improve sustainability. \nProvide advice and guidance regarding WEEE (and other hazardous waste) disposal arrangements. \nDefine and implement effective reporting processes (replacing various existing processes where necessary) e.g. WEEE submissions in UK and Ireland. \nDeliver new employee inductions in order to provide an understanding of the organisation’s Environmental Policies. \nProvide advice to stakeholders regarding arrangements for waste removal (e.g. from warehouse) \nInvestigate any environmental incidents and report to the relevant authorities as necessary. \nKeep abreast of new Environmental regulations and inform the management team of any implications for the business. \n\nKnowledge/Skills/Experience:\nDegree within a technical discipline with post-grad EHS qualifications and a minimum of Technical membership of IOSH. \nThorough knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation \nWorking knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards \nAbility to develop and implement new and improved health and safety and environmental management processes \nHave experience in leading and coaching management and working through improvements collaboratively \nAbility to lead change programmes, with associated business communications \nHighly effective communicator, good interpersonal skills at all levels within a complex organisation \nAnalytical and research skills \nMotivated, tenacious, and keen to drive for results \nAbout us\nWith a firm belief that every person and community should have access to the best possible care, Getinge provides hospitals and life science institutions with products and solutions aiming to improve clinical results and optimize workflows.
