This role provides technical leadership across multiple engineering teams, ensuring high standards for architecture, code quality, reliability, security, and AI adoption. This is a hands-on leadership role where strategic thinking meets deep engineering execution within a complex healthcare environment.\nThis position reports to the Director, Product Development and requires close collaboration with software engineers, AI engineers, product managers, DevOps, QA, and compliance specialists.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership\nDefine and drive the architecture of scalable, distributed healthcare platforms.\nChampion AI-First Software Engineering practices across the development lifecycle.\nLead the adoption of AI-Augmented Development, including spec-driven development, AI-assisted coding, code reviews, testing, and documentation.\nEstablish engineering standards, Cursor/AI coding guidelines, reusable patterns, and governance for responsible AI usage.\nProvide hands-on leadership in architecture, coding, design reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.\nMentor engineers and foster an engineering culture that embraces continuous learning and AI-driven innovation.\nProduct Development\nDesign and implement scalable cloud-native services and APIs supporting healthcare interoperability (FHIR, HL7, CDA).\nBuild highly available microservices leveraging Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, cloud-native technologies, and modern data platforms.\nDevelop and integrate Agentic AI workflows leveraging enterprise AI platforms and healthcare data.\nDrive adoption of AI-assisted software development workflows to accelerate feature delivery while improving software quality.\nAI-Augmented Engineering\nLead the adoption of Spec-Driven Development, where engineering specifications serve as the foundation for AI-generated implementations.\nPromote the use of AI to generate production-ready code, unit tests, test cases, documentation, and automation artifacts.\nPartner with QA teams to establish AI-assisted development and testing workflows that improve engineering quality.\nEvaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks and define best practices for integrating them into the engineering lifecycle.\nDrive measurable improvements in engineering productivity through responsible AI adoption.\nCollaboration\nPartner with Product Management, UX, Clinical teams, AI Engineers, and Platform Engineering to deliver innovative healthcare solutions.\nCollaborate closely with Security, Compliance, QA, and DevOps to ensure secure, reliable, HIPAA-compliant software delivery.\nPromote cross-functional collaboration between Development and QA through shared AI-assisted engineering workflows.\nInnovation\nLead research, evaluation, and adoption of emerging technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, AI copilots, and AI-assisted software engineering.\nDrive continuous improvement of engineering practices through automation and AI.\nContribute to engineering strategy, architecture standards, and technical roadmaps.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.\n10+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership role.\nProven experience building large-scale cloud-native distributed systems using AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OCI.\nStrong expertise in Java, Python, Node.js, or Ruby/Rails.\nDeep understanding of microservices, API design, Kubernetes, Docker, messaging systems, and distributed architectures.\nStrong experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.\nExperience building or integrating AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), AI Agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector Databases, or AI orchestration frameworks.\nHands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Windsurf, or similar AI coding assistants.\nStrong understanding of software engineering best practices, design patterns, secure coding, and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or CDA.\nFamiliarity with HIPAA, healthcare security, and data privacy regulations. \nAbout Get Well:\nNow part of the SAI Group family, Get Well is redefining digital patient engagement by putting patients in control of their personalized healthcare journeys, both inside and outside the hospital.
