Team mission

The Central Services group is a strategic unit that develops and maintains foundational platform capabilities essential to GetYourGuide's global operations and customer experience.

This group drives efficiency and consistency across the business by centralizing critical technical services & capabilities in three key areas: visual optimization, localization, communications and merchandising. By consolidating these fundamental services, the group enables GetYourGuide to deliver relevant, seamless, localized, and visually engaging experiences to travelers worldwide while empowering internal teams with robust, scalable solutions.

The Localization Platform Team builds the systems that let GetYourGuide operate as a truly global marketplace. Every translated string a traveler reads, every market we launch into, and every piece of content that reaches a non-English-speaking customer flows through the platform the team owns. We provide the tools, pipelines, and infrastructure that turn source content into high-quality localized content at scale, and the framework that turns a decision to launch in a new market into a repeatable, low-risk rollout. We build internal tooling & capabilities for localization & multi-cluster teams to move fast and at scale. Our mission is to make localization a strategic capability rather than a per-team problem, so that any product team at GetYourGuide can ship in any language, in any market, without each team having to solve translation themselves.

Your mission

• Work in a cross-functional mission team with highly skilled engineers, product, and data
• Continuously improve our code base, systems and processes
• Design and develop efficient solutions that can continue to scale
• Help to enable your team to iterate fast and learn about our customers by designing, launching and iterating on experiments, internal solutions and user capabilities

Your toolkit

• 6+ years of software development experience
• High proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services
• Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging
• Experience in operating at scale, CI/CD pipelines and a cloud DevOps / infrastructure mindset
• Experience with stakeholder management, technical leadership and cross-team collaboration
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision-making
• Hands-on experience leveraging and experimenting with AI
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others

• Experience developing internal SDKs and libraries, providing API documentation and developer tooling for other internal teams.
• Experience with Localization platforms and tools
• Experience with GraphQL ecosystems
• Experience with SLO/SLA management and Platform Reliability
• Experience with security and scalability of asynchronous flows
• Experience in migrating a monolithic application to a services-oriented architecture.
• Prior experience working in the e-commerce space
• Prior experience in start-up environment
