With the support of a national team, you will be relied upon to bring support and guidance in the health and safety field, allowing you to advise on various unique obstacles that we face on a day-to-day basis. Working closely with our operational team, the Safety Advisor will ensure that safety is at the top of the mind for all team members and at the forefront of all daily activities. Frequent travel (70%) will be required.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupports the day-to-day administration activities of GFL operations on all EHS matters\nFormulates improvement to EHS program\nEnsures compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Construction & Industrial Regulations and other pertinent legislation\nEnsures compliance for all customer programs such as ISN Networld, Avetta, and Contractor Check\nManages and supports all EHS programs; COR, ISO 450001, SEMS-Enablon, the GFL LMS, Subcontractor Management and Return to Work\nManages & supports training & development programs\nConduct Onboarding/Orientations for new hires\nStreamlining communication within EHS & Operations\nAssist EHS Manager and Director in company pursuits with marketing strategies, prequalification's, bids and proposals, related to health & safety\nInterface with the public through projects imbedded within the community, Regulatory officials, Safe Work Associations & Suppliers/Vendors\nAttend client/project meetings where required\nPrepare reports and project updates as it relates to the EHS performance\nOther duties as prescribed by the Senior Manager Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:\n3-5+ years of experience within a similar on-site Environmental Health & Safety role, with previous experience within Waste Management, Transportation or Construction industry preferred\nDegree, Diploma or Professional Certification in H&S or related field of study preferred\nA team player that accepts and can manage change regularly\nTrain the trainer in some of the required field level training (Fire Extinguisher, Confined Space etc.)\nTime management skills\nVehicle and valid license required\n75% travel required\nWe thank you for your interest.
