This role is primarily outdoor-based and plays a crucial part in maintaining our facility operations, ensuring site safety, and supporting our maintenance team year-round.\nThis entry-level role requires a strong safety mindset, solid work ethic, and the ability to perform moderately labour-intensive and repetitive tasks in an outdoor yard environment.\nThis is an excellent opportunity to grow and advance into other operational roles within the organization.\nThe standard work schedule is 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform general housekeeping, pick up yard debris/garbage, pull weeds, and trim trees to keep the site clean and safe.\nAssist team members with basic tasks such as valve replacements, lighting changes, painting, and general facility upkeep.\nHandle winter snow removal duties, including shoveling sidewalks and operating snow blowers.\nMaintain facility cleanliness through general housekeeping and equipment upkeep.\nConduct job hazard assessments and contribute to a strong safety culture.\nDeliver friendly, professional service and prompt support to facility visitors and customers.\nEnsure all visitors follow site safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE and remaining in designated safe areas.\nComplete routine cleaning and site organization tasks as assigned.\nRequirements\nA valid Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation.\nCapability to handle physically demanding work, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. \nAbility to work comfortably outdoors 80-90% of the time in various weather elements year-round. \nWillingness to be on-call as required (including holiday coverage support). \nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nStrong reliability, safety awareness, and team-oriented attitude. \nStrong communication skills and attention to detail.\nProblem-solving and organizational skills.\nAble to work independently and collaboratively within a team.\nGFL Benefits\nA company-matched RRSP program to support your financial future. \nPaid vacation and holidays.\nIndustry leading health, dental, vision and mental health benefits-with premiums fully covered by GFL. \nAccess to Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) for you and your family.\nPaid training, professional development, and advancement opportunities.\nA positive, collaborative work culture that invests in your success.\nWe thank you for your interest.
